The Old Folks Home

micro, and penny, STOP banging your heads. It sounds so painful. Be more careful, please. The idea about putting up reflective strips sounds good. There is also a soft plastic edging at the hardware stores, that is used to protect children from hitting their heads on edges, and corners of furniture. You might consider that too.

Cap, have you actually asked them when you can expect it to be completed, and maybe indicating that you need them to get on the ball, and get it done already?

Hey Cap, grats on the new rifle... Ummm you said it was a 30.08... did you mean 30.06? I've never heard of a 30.08... That's a well represented round = very powerful, very accurate. I gave mine to my boy as a Christmas gift a few years back so he'd have one for elk hunting. :D Didn't mind too much... I much prefer my Weatherby 300 magnum :D

ETA: Y'all ladies need to stop smacking your heads! Even if you ARE looking for a little more common sense :duc:oops::gig

did have a very cute find at the kitchen store looking for chicken or rooster cookie cutters

dang! that is all kinds of fun

The tree put up a moderate fight but we got it wrapped up to take home. Then it only had chemical weapons to assault us with. Alcohol gets sap out well.

I am a blue girl. Everything is blue if I have the choice.

Bf decorated the antlers. He had to hang my blue and silver balls from them because that's what we have but he also bought LED lights for them that have other unapproved colors.

:hmm

and you let him! That is a sign of true love!!! :gig

I think I thought red because I know you like red cardinals or clear because I know you are anti - froo froo. And I liked blue when I lived in Texas, but after living up here for a few years I had to get rid of all blue and go RED FOR HEAT! :wee

had look up that tool never heard of it before almost would have me be a rabbit farmer
watched that video of the rabbit being done away with then skinned pretty amazing still need to have pretty reliable grip

my kids love butchering rabbits. So much faster and easier than chickens or ducks.

I am planning to start up the wood stove Monday morning! !!!!

:ya :ya :wee

so excited! Right now I have to sit in bed with a coat on.

Glad you're finally getting the heat on. I had the wood stove cranked last night in the living room, it was probably 85 in there. It was so hot. When I finally came out and back into the main part of the house, which is heated to a very respectable level (probably 68) with the pellet stove, I was freezing.

Heading to Elmer's Barn today (it's like an antique mall except very low class). Have a date with a friend to look for awesome christmas gifts there.

She is probably taking Methotrexate. I have a friend who has RA and takes it whenever she has a flare.

I learned about low carb, low sugars, low anything that tastes good in order to lower the inflammatory response when I was fighting Lyme. I need to get back on that diet again. I always feel better when I lower my sugar intake. It's just so flipping hard to do that over the holidays, but I need to do it. I had a month where I just ate chicken, veggies, oatmeal and lean red meats. No bread, no sugars, no simple carbs. The only complex I ate was brown rice......GAWD! I hated that diet but lost a bunch of weight.

Definitely no German chocolate cake, @Alaskan. A world without chocolate cake is a boring world indeed. One of the last recipes I got my mom to recite to me before her memory for such things was gone was for her sour cream chocolate cake. Top it with fudge buttercream frosting then shave semi sweet chocolate over the top of it. :drool

Now I want chocolate cake! See! See how hard it is?:he

@superchemicalgirl, I'd take that adorable wall hanging but I don't know for the life of me where I would hang it!:idunno

There are MANY yummy low carb dessert!!! I use my boys as taste testers.
Though generally speaking, neither like very sugary anymore. They will drink a serving of plain kefir now without complaint! Tastebuds can change if given good reason.

Now u have me thinking low carb choc cake frosted with tofu choc pudding. My kids eat it faster than me, lol, and get loads of protein from the tofu and nuts, and some fiber.

Alaskan maybe we could all send you a piece of firewood, so you have enough through the winter.
:yuckyuck

I could do that. We have some awesome burning hickory and honey locust here that we use for heating.

Morning all. Got a good night's sleep. Oh @penny1960, did my excursion into laceration and concussion land sound like fun so you tried it too? At least you had a hoody on to soften the blow a bit before it reached your scalp. The first thing DH said to me when he saw my bloody face was 'weren't you wearing a cap?' I usually wear a baseball cap to keep the sun out of my eyes but for some reason didn't have one on.

What the contractors used to do back in my old home town was they would work a site until they ran out of material, stop, move onto the next job and work there till the ordered materials were available, work site B until they ran out of materials, move back to site A.....I knew people who were on month 6 of getting siding on their house. I was lucky. When I got siding put on my house that I had there, I found a new company that was trying to build up clientele. They had my house completely done, the mess cleaned up and their check in hand in 2.5 days.

I bet real money they had to wait for those windows to come in and were working another job in the mean time.

I thought 30.06 automatically. No such animal as a 30.08 unless it's a .308. I deer hunt with a 30-30. Told DH I was thinking of going with a .243 as they are very popular hunting rifles here along with .23. We have.23's. I usually switch to .23 for late afternoon hunting as my scope is pretty much useless in low light. The 30-30 kicks like a mule but you know when you hit something with it that whatever you hit is going to drop without knowing what hit it.

Agenda for today. Finish the tarp project on the rooster run, and replace a section of damaged netting. I need to replace a bunch of netting but I'm waiting for the first ice storm to do that. I should also get back to the timber for leaves. DH created a huge pile of them for me dragging the blade on the tractor. They are calling for rain tomorrow so it is now or never.

Y'all have a good Sunday.

PS SGC your tree is beautiful. I love the train set up around it. My tree is a 3 foot table model. The cats still try to climb the 4 foot tree I have so I went with the least temptation for them this year.
