The Old Folks Home

I went out to discover that my oldest heated dog bowl has failed. Sigh. The new one is working okay. There was a bit of ice around the back edge of the bowl but given it got down to 17 I can live with that. The malfunctioning bowl is inside so I can deal with it.

My husband always says that we have to live with winter half the year so we may as well learn to live with it but man oh man................

We also had a bit of snow over night. Just a bit of frosting around the grass edges but enough to see that there was some snowfall overnight.

It's up to 23 now. I need to run down to the feed store sometime today. The bantams managed to knock over their feeder and spill about a half gallon of feed. I just sighed and told them that was the last of it so they better get busy cleaning up the spill. Guess I'll have to put a brick on it to keep them from doing it again.

@CapricornFarm, you really do love to build things don't you? What sized greenhouse are you planning?

Hi @dsqard! Glad to have you join us again.

It's 17 degrees here this morning. Our first blast of winter temperatures. I haven't been looking forward to this at all. It's been so mild here so far this winter. Not looking forward to going out to let the birds loose either.

My hat's off to all you brave souls living in colder climates.
I am thinking 12x 16 or so...and yes, i do love to build things! I am planning to make the bottoms of the walls of concrete block. I have done that once before, but smaller. Turned out perfect. DH was amazed.

Live with winter or Move south!

Then you have to live with the heat. Gotta fine me a Goldilocks zone! I think South Carolina is one...

Please don't be too scarce. I know it is energy to deal with us, but having a good supportive community, even if we are virtual, helps with the healing and the mental health.
Thanks I am getting on, here but pretty much speed reading. My mental attitude right now is pretty dang positive... doing alot of dreaming that is different from what I normally do... I keep a dream journal if it seems important...

Not Religeous but spiritual and I listen to many things.

We like Virginia so far. Might snow a little tomorrow.
Virginia would be a good place too I think.
