The Old Folks Home

Crossing fingers we don't lose power in the middle of the night since we're already 6 below so it's goin to be a crispy night. Never fun draggin' out the generators when it's below zero. So far no power outages yet that we know of but that might change since it's only gettin colder for us the next few days. You get that long a cold snap it tends to make the power lines brittle. Our lines are underground but the ones we're connected to aren't unfortunately and this is the first real test of the lines for cold shrinkage this year. Could make a mess of some folks Christmas.

This is the small, flannel, baby quilt. It isn't pieced, it's just a panel, quilted to be tactile.

How could the recipient not be thrilled? I can't imagine how many hours went into that work! :th

making doughnuts here dough is rising 45 minutes to go

dooooooooonuts! :drool

Very nice job!

I wish that panel came in Queen size. I think I'd like sleeping under the tree and those woodland creatures.

been awhile since you have been on. missed ya! :hugs

Thanks for the recipe. I may make later this week. I'm working all weekend and we're supposed to get a significant ice storm. If you pray, pray for my power to stay on, please. My dog and god mother come on Tuesday... supposed to be -14 that night. She's from Maryland. We really, really, need to keep the power on.

You got talked into the dog! :th

achem... as to the house guest, sure hope the power stays on. :fl

Maybe somebody will sprinkle Hershey's kisses on the floor in the house and I can stay inside for the rest of the day 'cleaning' them up?:plbb

when I was a very young child... my mom would hide pennies. You had to clean to find the pennies.

I got home safe, boy were the roads atrocious.

Have power currently, but 4500 without in the state, so far.

:barnie bad news

Monday looks a bit ugly, 2.4" until 7AM, then another 3.2 by 1 PM. But we will have a white Christmas. Unfortunately we had freezing rain today on top of some snow on top of ice. Not quite sure what I want to do about the snow on Monday before we head to DW's parents. Don't want to blow down to ice but 6" is a bit much to leave on the parking area.

I always hate that decision.
