A little prayer for all my friends that you all are having a wonderful Christmas and stayin' safe and warm, ESPECIALLY you SCG! We're getting the wind now and our actual temp for high was -5 and dropping now. They changed the forecast and they're sayin' this is going to stick around until the end of the week before we get above zero and lose the crazy windchills.
My crazy pullets have decided on the shortest days during the coldest snap we've had so far this year to start laying and they are dropping eggs EVERYWHERE! At least a couple of them have figured out what the nestboxes are for. It's a challenge to get to them before they freeze. Even with the heater everything is freezing if it's on the floor.

A Wind Chill Warning is now in effect until 9am Tuesday Morning for the counties shaded in grey. Wind chill values will drop to -35 to -40 tonight into tomorrow morning.

Even though Mr. NOAA kept insisting were going to get ~6" of snow today, it was only about 2" and stopped by 10:30 AM. I blew the parking area and in front of the mailbox anyway. I'll blow down between the barns and the cul-de-sac in the back tomorrow. We are still supposed to freeze our butts off Wed - Sat though. I wouldn't mind AT ALL if it is warmer than predicted.
