The Old Folks Home

@perchie.girl Glad to hear that you are rolling along with your surgery plans and you are being taken care of. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers along with the health care providers.

DH had a good night. He slept sitting up but was so exhausted that he didn't have any problems falling asleep. He woke up with pain but nothing his RX can't handle.

Still just freaking cold outside. It's a toasty 4 degrees out but no wind. I'm consoling myself by thinking that all the cold has to be hard on the Marek's virus but other than that it's pretty miserable on everything else.

Everyone have a good day. Mine will be busy between taking care of the husband, dog, the house, the chickens and studying for the Technician Ham test.

Really? I have never heard that. Maybe it is just a stricter policy here because of the rabies in our area.

tried to read catchup.... failed...

Cute pup SGC

Sorry you all have been so Frozen...

My last test is tomorrow... CT scan Chest and Abdomen. Then Surgery Day is the 18th.

Its been a rollercoaster ride for sure. But Good Meds for attitude and good docs helping me sort things out... Me love Valium....

They finally sent me to a Cardiologist for an eval to see if my heart could tolerate four and half hour surgery with the table set on an incline with my head down. I passed and she readjusted my BP meds so NOW my Blood pressure is no longer threatening to blow my head off.

The surgery will be robotic... Di Vinchi Orthoscoptic for the most part. Irony is When I worked at Cardinal Health I did some drawing modifications for Di Vinchi when it was in its developmental stages.

sigh.

I will only spend one night in the hospital if everything goes as planned. so will be online friday I am sure.

deb

I will keep you in my prayers

Well, we just got our first snow of the year... Turned into solid ice on all of the roads... I came slip sliding into work this morning and hope they will get some ice melt down before I get off work... I'm down on the plant floor running a machine because half of the operators didn't show up today.

Be careful in the Ice!

Darned good to see ya @Wisher1000 :ya Nice to see your font here on YOUR thread after all this time! Hope all is going well in your neck of the woods. :hugs

Best wishes for a complication free surgery Deb :fl Get 'er done and heal up quick and well! Glad to hear you're getting all the issues dealt with.

Hoping for good healing for everyone else here dealing with "stuff"...

Deb!!!!!!! So nice to hear from you, thanks for dropping in.

Got a bunch of snow here and it was real slick this morning. Had a deer run out in front of my car. As I slammed on the brakes and skidded, the deer wiped out and slid the rest of the way across the road and landed in the ditch. Accident averted.

I laughed so hard.

Um @Alaskan what are you doing in Germany??? I thought you stayed home unless hell was freezing over??

I agree... and yes, usually.

I think AL was going to a family wedding? My guess any way.

yes... good memory. :old

Hmmm, maybe mentioned in a thread I didn't see. Must be important for Al to get on a plane and go that far, I gather travel and being around a lot of people is quite undesirable.

So far the people haven't sent me into konniptions. But...

We reserved a 7 person vehicle... I was thinking the size of a Ford Explorer... that was the size depicted.

But nope.

We got a bus! Huge bus! (still seats 7.... just huge).

So yeah... I got to drive a bus, for almost 5 hours on the Autobahn. I was fine for the first 2 hours... but then really started fading. :th

I made it though....bkah. (I did get to sleep one night at a friend's house before the long drive)

My grandma loved her Borscht and so did my mom. I wouldn't come near it but, vegetables scared me as a child and even as a senior.

Yes...they are scary.

Other than that, it's still cold enough to freeze a rooster into a capon.

:gig

Dang it, Bruce! Here I am, thinking I'm all 007 or Secret Squirrel, or something, and not only did SCG know who sent the gift without a return address, but you knew as well. I am going to have to start being less predictable.

ooooooh! Another wisher post!!! :wee
