Don't count on pulling the chairs out to stop a mouse. They will climb the table legs if there is no other way.
Have you thought about putting out a bucket of death for them? Take a bucket, fill it three quarters full with water and float sunflower seeds in it. The mice will jump in to get the seeds and drown.
Yeah, they aren't the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree.
It got up over 40 today so I went awol. Cleaned out a nesting box then went for a walk to cut dried grass to use in the boxes. The chickens actually ventured outside today once the snow melted. I tossed them some left over apples from last fall and they were happily pecking away at them.

A big fat mouse had fallen in on it's quest for dinner and couldn't get back out. I dropped a fruit jar over it, slid a piece of cardboard under it and toted it out to the road where it got tossed a good distance.I usually mix scratch and sunflower seed for the chickens in a big plastic garbage can. One day it had maybe 15 pounds of seed left in it and I forgot to put the lid on the night before. Lighting isn't the greatest in the shop. Next morning I reached in to scoop out a coffee can full and noticed a dark blob in the bottom of the can, started to reach in to pull it out when it movedA big fat mouse had fallen in on it's quest for dinner and couldn't get back out. At least it got evicted with a full stomach. Considering it was a four foot drop to the bottom of that garbage can, it's pretty funny to think like that mouse did. It got in without knowing it couldn't get out. Like I said not the brightest animals on earth.
