The Old Folks Home

I live at the end of a dead end street. We used to have a sign that said that but, someone stole it. For 48.5 years we've had people that didn't believe it was a dead end. They'd come shooting down the street, slam the brakes when they saw no more street. Then they would back up and turn on my lawn, often smacking the mail box.

One day I was sitting by the front window waiting for a UPS delivery (mainly 'cuz I had a secret crush on the driver. ) one car after another shot down the street and mangled my lawn. I would go out and give them a death look while they fumbled with getting their car out before I bit the tires. Some jerks would wave at me like they only ran over my lawn to be friendly.

dropping in a note....

Healing well. I will start Radiation possibly in a couple of weeks depending on when ithe insureance clears.

Day of my visit to the "Doc on the second we started melgting down .... A viral infection that ran through our four some starting with grandma... Violent throwing up and diareea... it was horrific.... I was the last one to get it.... Never threw up so hard in my whole life Including my drinking days. Plus side for me is my gut was hurting but I think those muscles went back to their position so after that trhow up NO MORE Gut pain for me.... Yay... no popped stitches either.

Grandmas well finally we had to work on her for a bit to get her to start her routine again... I think she was depr4essed... Routine is essentail for old folks. especially centurians....

Weall lost about ten pounds...

I have a docs visit on tuesday to touch basis with my Primary... Let her know med changes... end of the month I should do my sleep test. Oxygen is helping but it burned my sinuses so I have to keep the little ports below my lower lip. Works...

The Vaginal stitches are coming out... expected almost done and no drama... second day of march is my follow up visit with my doc.

Lets see... I still ahve to talk to the genetic testing person. I suspect its what it is ... and I am not going to like it.. I would rather they stick me with a biopsy needle.... LLOL.

I am so tired of doing blood pressure and Priking my fingers and logging it all down... I am the antithesis of my grandmother.... I absolutely hate routine. sigh... Its important though.

Just give me one day a week and I can doIT...

:frow Hi, deb! It is good to hear all of you made it through the "viral crud". Your grandma is an example of your tough DNA, hang in there! :hugs

Hi Deb. That crud is bad stuff. Glad your all well again.
It's nice to hear from you. It's wonderful that you are healing and doing better.

My mom's Dr. always tried to put her oxygen up to 3 ltrs. But her pulmonologist told me to keep it to .5 to 1 ltr. Maybe they have it set to high.

Keeping you all in my prayers. :hugs

perchie.girl, thank you for stopping by, and giving an update. Sorry you caught the "crud", especially so soon after your surgery. Glad you're on the mend. Keep going forward. The radiation isn't going to be a picnic, but it sure beats the alternative. You are still in my prayers.

Some people put big rocks at the edge of their lawn to solve that problem. We had a guy hit our mailbox so hard one day it sounded like a major car crash. He replaced everything though. Just was not paying attention where the road curved in our FL place.

48 years Diva and you never considered spike strips? <evil grin> Maybe the spring loaded type like they have at rental car places in the return lane so you can go over them going in but if you back up they rip the tires to shreds. Or a moat even? A nice rock wall, as stated would work pretty well also.

Thanks for sopping by Deb. Glad you're still healing up and losing weight. Not happy about the illness that caused the weight loss... Glad the mom's are through it and you're all getting better.
