The Old Folks Home

dropping in a note....

Healing well. I will start Radiation possibly in a couple of weeks depending on when ithe insureance clears.

Day of my visit to the "Doc on the second we started melgting down .... A viral infection that ran through our four some starting with grandma... Violent throwing up and diareea... it was horrific.... I was the last one to get it.... Never threw up so hard in my whole life Including my drinking days. Plus side for me is my gut was hurting but I think those muscles went back to their position so after that trhow up NO MORE Gut pain for me.... Yay... no popped stitches either.

Grandmas well finally we had to work on her for a bit to get her to start her routine again... I think she was depr4essed... Routine is essentail for old folks. especially centurians....

Weall lost about ten pounds...

I have a docs visit on tuesday to touch basis with my Primary... Let her know med changes... end of the month I should do my sleep test. Oxygen is helping but it burned my sinuses so I have to keep the little ports below my lower lip. Works...

The Vaginal stitches are coming out... expected almost done and no drama... second day of march is my follow up visit with my doc.

Lets see... I still ahve to talk to the genetic testing person. I suspect its what it is ... and I am not going to like it.. I would rather they stick me with a biopsy needle.... LLOL.

I am so tired of doing blood pressure and Priking my fingers and logging it all down... I am the antithesis of my grandmother.... I absolutely hate routine. sigh... Its important though.

Just give me one day a week and I can doIT...

Keep up the fight!

The river is up about 10 feet! We have not seen it up this high since we moved. And we are supposed to get more rain today and tomorrow! Hubby is being entertained by the stuff floating down the river. Now he is going out to look.

Now he is going out to look.
I hope he doesn't end up joining the stuff floating down the river ;) Of course after the water recedes you might have plenty of trash to pick up on your frontage.

one car after another shot down the street and mangled my lawn
There were some more novel suggestions than mine, I figured maybe you get get a Dead End sign and put it up at the edge of your property. Of course it would be nicer if the town/city/county were to put up one or two where it joins the other road.

Or you could put up a sign that says "Turn back, there be dragons here". And follow that with" TURN BACK, there be a SERIOUSLY PISSED OFF lady here". The last one can be a picture of a double barrel shotgun. MAYBE that would slow them down. Oh, and put in a turnaround so they can avoid rock salt damage to their vehicles as they take the hint.

Geez @perchie.girl I'm so sorry you all got the bad bug. LAST thing someone your grandma's age needs and WELL past the last thing YOU need!! Glad to hear you are past that and on the mend from the surgery. Thanks for letting us know.

Hi Deb. That crud is bad stuff. Glad your all well again.
It's nice to hear from you. It's wonderful that you are healing and doing better.

My mom's Dr. always tried to put her oxygen up to 3 ltrs. But her pulmonologist told me to keep it to .5 to 1 ltr. Maybe they have it set to high.

Keeping you all in my prayers. :hugs
I go see a pulminologist at the end of the month.... the oxygen was set by the hospital... its where it needs to be to hook in to the CPAP if I am not mistaken. Right now its a stop gap till then.

perchie.girl, thank you for stopping by, and giving an update. Sorry you caught the "crud", especially so soon after your surgery. Glad you're on the mend. Keep going forward. The radiation isn't going to be a picnic, but it sure beats the alternative. You are still in my prayers.
Last little bit I read It will be five days a week for eight weeks. Full Abdomen. I hope I can drive myself... Probably will have to be on probiotics ... been reading too much I need to just let it happen as it goes.
