The Old Folks Home

Deb that's a true blessing that you are getting all their services free!
I have used some tracking hospitals that were great and a couple that were not.
Glad your feeling better and back on more.

Good to see you back as well Al.

We used to have so many black birds the covered our place and you could not see the ground.
This year there is only a small flock of between 50-75.
But they have quite a few youngins in their group this year. So they are coming back nicely.

Lol! Micro, hope your broody does her job.
Funny how broodies rule the roost.
I'm still waiting for eggs, get one every few days from each coop. Keep eating them in the giant coop, done this before, all I did before was up the protein and it stopped, have to try it again.
Not sure how many will be fertile when I do get them. Did the giant/naked neck rooster swap some time ago. I think the giant is doing his job but not sure, he looked pretty bashful for awhile, never been with a group of naked hens.
The naked neck rooster, he got the crap beat out of him. I've seen boss hens that fight a new rooster but that's always been when they did not have a rooster, they did.
When I tossed him in one of the big hens just puffed right up and beat the crap out of him like the worst rooster I ever seen, my giant rooster has never shown that much aggression even around other roosters. He still seems pretty timid around them.

Got a olive egg today, so one of the oldest hens still laying. Only have two of that group left a EE and a polish so no chance of hatching wrong eggs.
Maybe the polish will lay some white eggs, I'd probably set them just to see if I get naked poofy heads lol.

I would love to see that pic!! :lau

Tired today, new kid on my old job cut his arm had stiches just before he was to work. So I got up at 4:30am unloading milk tankers from 6-1:30 then had to go on old job till 10pm, then like a idiot stayed up late and had a few brews. Sore now, to old for double shifts I guess. Only have to work second shift today and supposedly still getting next six days off (I hope :fl)

That's hard on a person. Get some rest when you get off.

My dh is working doubles all week since the night shift supervisor took vacation. He's been coming home dead on his feet.
