The Old Folks Home

I haven't cooked anything in the dishwasher but I read once that you could sanitize your dish cloths by laying them over your top rack and running them through a cycle with the dishes. I tried it and sure enough, it works.
The one I have now has a sanitize cycle. It takes a long time for that cycle though

My dishwasher is 2 hands, bottle of soap, and a sink! I prefer it that way!

that is how dishes are done here, We have a dishwasher not new maybe 10 years old
don't use it for 3 people

I have made Halibut and Salmon in the dishwasher not recently but large piece of foil so it can go completely around the fish add pepper and salt a lemon quartered seal edges of foil allow to operate through wash and rinse cycle remove prior to drying cycle unfold foil, eat

I told DH that if our dishwasher breaks down, I don't want to replace it. Nice to have it around but not a necessity.

The arthritis in my hands really enjoys the hot water of hand washing dishes.

It's raining here. The grass is turning green but that is about the only thing that is springlike around here.

I'd gladly accept the help but then you would be contaminating your flock and I wouldn't want that.
That would be "future flock". He's still getting the goat area settled. Fencing takes time and energy.

"sanitize" is a bit of a misnomer. It doesn't get hot enough in the dishwasher to sanitize. Has to get over 212° for a period of time, dishwashers don't get that hot.

I can't quite imagine why cooking in the dishwasher would be a good thing. Washing dishes at the same time???

I'll skip it.

@MrsMistyReal, how is DH doing?

Just went out to gather eggs as it has stopped raining. Almost 2 dozen today. Even my old girls are laying like champs. And at the moment the roosters aren't trying to kill one another.

I'm really sitting and scratching my head. Last year, birds were dropping at a rate of 1 to 2 a week. Egg production was down. The large fowl were thin in spite of being wormed. This year they are fat, sassy and flooding me with eggs. I'm not complaining, just guardedly relieved.
