The Old Folks Home

It was 80F here yesterday and will be at those temps for a week. I am at work without a coat today!
Now that is just plain mean!:rant:lau

I've read that the airborne distance for dander is 5 miles. Now that doesn't sound bad until you figure that if the radius is 5 miles, .....think of it from the POV that your flock has Marek's so every farm within 5 miles of you is in the danger zone of wind transmission. Say though that a farm or flock on the outer rim of that area has been exposed but their flock is resistant/carriers. That means that flock is ground zero and also has a 5 mile radius from it for airborne tranmission. It just goes on and on.

Any wonder that the Dept of Ag is saying that Marek's is everywhere? It is and that is why they say all flocks are exposed. It's just one big bleeping domino principle.

Yet nobody seems too interested in finding a vaccine that truly works and is easily not to mention monetarily available to flock owners.

IMHO if you cure Marek's a cure for cancer is right there along with it.

Ron, That is just wrong to rub it in on those of us barely tolerating our gloomy, 40-50ish days. :plbb

I think we here in the Midwest need to revolt.

Over two weeks here with only one day of semi cloudiness. Everything is gray skies, gray and brown in the timber..My iris and daffodils are up about two inches. Grass is just starting to turn green. None of the trees are budded out with the exception of a few walnut trees I saw in the timber yesterday.. Temps in the 50s would be welcome and sun would be very welcomed so my runs could dry out a bit.

I'm happy for all of you that are having regular spring weather and sunshine.

Just keep in mind that when you get tired of it, send it to the midwest. We REALLY need it.
