The great -great -grandfather that I was named after ran a drug store, and was a pharmacist. I love reading the ads that he ran in the newspaper! Talk about a snake oil salesman!

When he died the family donated the entire store contents to a college. Sadly a few odd years back the college sold it all at auction. picked up a few bits and bobs, but not much.

I have looked up some of the store stuff on line.. it on occasion is still sold from ebay etc. One person had a prescription that he wrote for pot.

DH is familiar with the eye drops. He says that they were used to numb the eye for surgery until about 1980.
