Linda-- the white accent makes the coop look spiffy and very finished!! ONthe fencing you can put flagging material for a season. THe deer that travel thru will learn the run is there and work around it---

SCG-- got my shot and kids got the mist, DH? Probably not this year-- he'd rather get the flu, which he does, than take time in his busy schedule to get to the cliniic.

Last week I got the dignosis that I have lymes, no surprise there!! BUt the cure is worse than the disease ( at this point) . THe deoxcy makes me feel like I have morning sickness all the time. Which was one aspect of pregnancy that I didn't miss!

On a good note, in a discussion with DH, we have both noticed a huge drop in ticks since having the chickens and ducks. Yeah!!!. Guess I need more of them!!

Oh, Arielle, that just sucks. :hugs Except for the Natural Bug Reduction Crew part, that is. With your diagnosis, it is obvious you need a heavier dose of that Rx! ;)

SCG, priceless!!

So sorry, Arielle. What were your symptons? How long do you think you've had it?

I'm always removing ticks-- the bane of playing outdoors!! lol

I had pulled a tiney deer tick off thinking "you bugger!" ANd didn't think much of the reddening of the site which is normal. THen it started to spread, I blew a fever like having a mild flu, THe site grew to be 5 x7 and the red rash faded to a bulleye. Classic bullseye-- only the second one Ihave every seen. Usually there is no bulls eye. My ears hurt like mild ear ach but it is very mild and in both ears equally.

In the process of keeping out the coyote I thinkthe electric fence will keep the deer out as well. ANd perhaps the ducks and chickens will get the tick poplution down a bit more.

For alll the efforst to spray for mosquitos that might be carrying tripleE ( only 1-5 cases a year here) , geez, why can't they come up with a program to kill the ticks carrying the lymes?

My olderson was sick all last spring-- I need to get him rechecked. Apparently the deoxycycline doesn't always work anymore, especially on a chronic case.
