The Old Folks Home

What if the doctor tells you to go to the hospital?

I decided not to go to the appt. I an dead set against going in the hospital.
I have the meds and will take them. I got antibiotic and steroid injections yesterday.
He sent me home with a bag full of meds and I will take them.
I am worried about the antibiotic he prescribed though. Its Levofloxacin I googled it this morning after I took one only to find out the FDA has black listed it due to the severe side effects tendons rupturing, muscle weakness! And more!
I will take the steroid and breathing treatments mixed with albuterol and Budesonide and use the Pulmicort inhaler.

The tendon rupture is a very uncommon side effect.

If you do decide to take the levofloxacin, don't take it within 2 hours of anything that contains vitamins like iron, magnesium, calcium. Edited to add: not because of the tendon rupture but because that drug class binds to those type of chemicals, and it renders the antibiotic ineffective since it's bound to the chemical, and won't absorb into your bloodstream.

Thanks Scg. I will be careful not to. I am just so sensitive to meds that I am scared to take many and often ask for the lowest dosage.

Thanks Alaskan, you are young enough to have a functioning brain. Do you look more than your father or mother?

I was always told I was a throw back... looked just like my dad's dad and his family. I was named after my great-great-grandfather. I have his hair and his eyebrows, and face shape .... and height. (short)

But my mom actually looks a lot like my dad's dad.... :idunno Except my mom has some height.

My dad..I look nothing like him... he looks like his mom. My baby sister looks like my dad.

always good to have a SCG in the house :yesss:
Yes, @chickadoodles, always feel free to ask SCG any pharmacy questions you have. I know she has offered her "services" to all here as needed.

BTW SCG, did I miss the answer to the fish oil capsule question? I know people put out a couple of possible answers.

@Latestarter, I don't imagine I would be even 5% right if I tried to imagine just what combat troops go through physically and mentally. I know many have said they don't even discuss it with non combat vets because they just wouldn't understand and in the case of loved ones, don't really want to dump that reality on them. I hope your DS is making use of whatever mental health services are available to him.

"I want to marry a girl just like the boy that married dear old mom"???
;)

not my house

my eldest is there now, maybe I will text him and tell him to. :lau
Unless your Mom does not care to have people mess with her house.
