That's so cool.. I used to collect tarantulas, and the jumping spider looks like the mini-me of tarantulas, I get a kick out of watching them.. Unfortunately what I have here are black widows and brown recluse; pea size, but I rather give them space, lmao..I had one of these jump at me when I pruning a climbing vine on Saturday
We have a lot of black widows and reportedly brown recluse. I may have seen on of them once or twice but the are very shy spiders. That's so cool.. Nice.. I like jumping spiders.. Right, they are out of sight here too, but if I turn over something in the yard I need to watch for them.. I've never heard a of bite by either here in Florida..We have a lot of black widows and reportedly brown recluse. I may have seen on of them once or twice but the are very shy spiders.
The jumping spiders here are pretty with teal on them
Hello Geriatrics! It is I, your OP back from reality to immerse myself in BYCdom once again. I see a lot of new names here, but I'm thankful to see many, many OFs still here.
That is OF for 'Old Folk' or 'Old Friends' or even 'Old Farts!' I can think of others, like 'Old F'ers,' 'Ornery Fellers,' 'Odd Folks,' ... but I digress. Feel free to choose whichever you think fits you best.
Nice..Sorry. To me, a quarter sized spider is all the bigger I want to deal with especially when they are venomous.
We have big garden spiders here also which are 50 cent piece sized. Very beautiful but huge and completely benign,
No, not a walk in/run in/loafing shed. This is a 40X40 full sized barn complete with hay loft, hay loft doors. It holds two tractors, 9 cords of wood, wood splitter and whatever else we can cram into it. Ours is solid oak and osage orange post construction.
We just had a downpour and storm roll through. Glad we got some more wood hauled up to the barn for splitting. I love it when the weather man predicts sunny, hot and dry and the heavens open up and it pours for 15 minutes.
Sorry to hear that..Found one of my younger hens dead in the coop today. Ascites (aka Water Belly). She was running around just fine yesterday. I thought when they got it, they tend to get a bit lethargic, lay around, or be less active, and have possible respiratory issues. She didn't. She was out running around just like the other one. I'm positive of my diagnosis. I double checked all the others just to make sure there isn't something else going on too. Nope, they're all fine. Even the old gals are spunky, laying, and doing fine.
