The Old Folks Home

Very true, how do you keep the larvae from developing into nasty little biters??

I feed the larvae to my baby fish and guppies :p:cool:.. But all my fish love them ;)..

Probably because you do!

Really? :(.. So that's why people stared at me :th.. I thought they stared cause I'm good looking :p..

Oh no :(.. Pls, don't hesitate with the breathing, go to the ER if it gets any worst :hmm.. Hope you feel better soon :hugs:love..
not my first rodeo... I do have an inhaler which i somewhat over used last night trying to breathe well enough to sleep...

The CPAP helped for a while till I started coughing.... Its hard when you cough into the machine it gets confused and gives you a blast of air....Popping my cheeks out... Getting the giggles while surviving is not a good idea....

@Alaskan, my deepest condolences on the loss of your father. So sorry I didn't catch that sooner. No matter how old you are you are never ready to say goodbye to them.:hugsI hope his passing was peaceful, one breath in this life and the next in heaven.

I'm sitting here trying to catch up with things. Everyone sick, swollen, hacking up a lung, suffering losses of a parent. Dang folks. Life gets busy for me and in the mean time The Old Folks Home is in crisis mode...almost.

@chickadoodles, your leg and foot looks like it has pitting edema. Glad you are taking the lasix. Watch your potassium level and make sure you eat bananas, baked potatoes, broccoli and other potassium rich foods when you take it. Also watch your occult sodium in processed foods. I have a trick valve also so I know what it's like when the weather gets really hot. I don't get the edema, just get really tired easily. Take care of you, please?:hugs

@perchie.girl. same thing goes for you. Take care of you!:hugs

Me, I have added studying for my HAM radio upgrade to General level to my already full day. Yesterday, I finally got out and got one of my three runs raked out. I'm also battling varmints. Found a rat tunnel. For some reason late every spring and in the fall I will find one that is trying to move into the neighborhood and have to thwart their plans. I think I got it but ordered two heavy duty Victor traps today from Ebay just in case. Also discovered mice and found a louse on one of my bantams so everybody got Ivermectined. Lot easier than doing the big birds. Every time I do them, they wind up beating me to death with their wings. The Little Guys just lay in my hand and raise a wing for me. No challenge at all.

Today DH and I headed in to the new Menard's in Kirksville and bought a new storm door for our deck. Stopped by Orscheln's on the way home and they had 9 adorable Guinea chicks in a box with a sold sign on them. They were so freaking adorable. I asked them if they would special order for me next year and they said sure. They get their chicks from Estes hatchery. I talked to our Amish neighbor about eggs. He said they didn't have Guineas as his father thought they were too noisy. Well of course they are they are Guineas, after all. He then tried to talk me into incubating Quail eggs for him. Yeah, right.....like I'm gonna hatch fragile quail chicks and turn them over to somebody without electricity to brood them.

My broody hen is doing well. The weather has been nicer here the past few days with temps in the low 80s. The heat is on the next few days so I plan to move her coop into our shop where it is cooler. Not too thrilled about having to do that but when I explained to DH that I didn't want a dead hen or deformed/dead chicks it was my only option and he agreed.

Oh well, that's why God created shops.

Off to study. Y'all take care!
