The Old Folks Home

Thanks Micro.
It's not nearly as bad this morning. I put the foot of the bed up higher last night and it helped a lot. But after watering and fertilizing the garden and orchard this morning it's a bit more swollen again. It was not even that warm at 7am.

Good luck with your broody Micro.

Deb good luck at the Dr.

Penny I hope ya'll get well quickly.

I have GOT to get out today some time to take pictures of my white pumpkin and warty red squash plants. They are going insane, sending out huge runners in every which direction. One runner is almost half way into our orchard and every runner has young white pumpkins or squash on it. I am going to be inundated by fall.

@MrsMistyReal, how are you and your husband doing? Blessings sent your way. You have so much that you are dealing with yet you always are so uplifting here at the home. Can't begin to tell you how much it means to me.:hugs:love:hugs

Where will people shop now? I bet all the smaller stores Walmart put out of business won't be coming back.

It's a terrible thing to watch. The piggly wiggly closed up here after the dollar general did their upgrade. But you can't get a tone to wait on you to ring you up at the cash register. They will have 5 to 8 employees running around and only one cashier. People got so tired of waiting an hour in line that no one shops there any more. It's a sad situation here to JD.
It's the truth...none of the stores put out of business will be coming back. That was more than thirty years ago and a total of nine stores.
I'll have to admit it's not all Wal-Mart's fault. Wal-Mart doesn't own the building and the local economy is depressed...so the school district raised taxes and the property owner raised the rent to cover it. That is a recipe for disaster.
Dollar general gave up their lease

People are wondering what's next.....

Well, I don't think any of the eggs I bought are going to make it. I'm not seeing the veining. One had broken in shipment, and all air cells were detached. I let them sit for 24 hours, then put them in the incubator without turning for another 24 hours. I cut the humidity down to 35%, so the existing air cell would not shrink, just in case. It was a very expensive failure.
What type were the eggs?

If you do not see veining in any of the eggs by day 7, they were likely not fertile. Some claim that shipping stress will keep them from developing but that has not been my experience. Fertile shipped eggs will vein bu die later.

Contact the seller to see if they will admit to fertility issues
