Hey @ronott1 or anyone else who could advise.

I just updated my Fit bit equipment... Went from the fitbit one that is a clip on to a Fitbit watch that monitors heart rate.... The fitbit One works with a usb antenna dongle The Watch works with the Antenna or Wifi... So all good on the installation of the new watch.
They down load my exercise to the website and facilitates my calorie burning through exercise throughout the day. they also monitor my sleep... and down load it to my computer

The new scale I bought is a Fitbit scale. The issue is.... it only works through Wifi

My computer is NOT Wifi capable. The existing antenna works across the house even out to the car.

Here is the question. There is a Wifi Dongle which will go in the spot the antenna went.
It should work through out the house as well. And I can get one for about fifteen dollars after parusing amazon.

Which is the best brand cost isnt an issue for the Dongle... And I could also go for a broad cast level whole house wifi for a considerably larger expense.

For those who dont know what a dongle is the one below is just an example

The above information assumes that the laptop connects to the home network via Ethernet cable. Connecting to the home network is what is important and a wifi adapter for wireless is not necessary. That is actually a bit redundent and the wireless connection will not be used when the cable is connected.

If you do not connect via ethernet and the laptop does not have a built in wireless adapter than any AC usb wireless adapter should be fine.

You definitely do not need a cellular adapter. Those are for connecting to sprint, att and etc.

dont have a home wireless network I need it to connect to my computer and there is no connector port on it it is an Aria 2

I do not think they connect directly. How do you connect to the internet? Always by cellular on a phone?

I have an app called PDAnet+ which changes most Android phones into wifi hot spots. You can use your phone internet access for any wifi or USB device. It has been my only non-workplace internet access for years. It's on the play store.

I do not think they connect directly. How do you connect to the internet? Always by cellular on a phone?

Cable modem.... Cox is the service provider... When I move home It will probably be Hughes unless there is a better satellite service provider.

Just as Direct TV will be my television access.

Cell Doesnt have a signal at my house unless you stand about a hundred feet from the house and hold the phone up... I am looking into a signal booster. Verison has a very strong presence in that neighbor hood IF you can attain line of site to the freeway...

Cell doesnt work here either Or I would be using my Cellphone as a Go between.

Sheesh It all used to be so simple...
