Off subject, just wanted to let everyone know that my dad went for his 2nd skin cancer removal surgery Tuesday and they got it all this time!! I am so happy! Saw him yesterday for my daughter's 6th birthday and he looked good. I'm so thankful to everyone that prayed for him.

i was unaware of such a term as off topic in the old folks home

great news rpm

Yes, that is a good one.

I have tried two local pharmacies to get topical progresterone cream. THen asked at the counter when I couldn't find it after 15 minutes in the aisle. FIrst woman in a lab coat acted like I was asking for a prescription drug without a prescription. WOn't ever got here again. THen wnet to the CVS, and a friend was tending the in-coming window. So I asked. SHe wasn't aware of it . BUt pulled out her ipod and looked up preogesterone on line and found oodles of OTC cream. I used to have a lotion from Bed Bath and Beyond.

I will go to my compounding pharmany, they have the progesterone creme. OTC.
That's great! I would stock up just incase.

chickennewstome please keep a very close eye on that rooster. I have a scar on my leg from "Randy" (he was delicious). He started out nice and got more aggressive as he got older. I tried all the tricks but he just didn't want to listen. If you have good older roosters, I would suggest processing that youngster now while he is still tender. Randy had to become enchiladas (did I mention they were tasty?

) because he was older. When they flog and have spurs it is worse and it goes right through jeans.

I have been watching him very closely and since I kinda played football with him he hasn't messed with me since. I know that sounds horrible but he was trying to chase me so I turned around and instinct kicked in (literally) So he has left me alone.

and I love me some enchiladas!!!
my meat grinder and sausage stuffer are perfect for birds like randy.

Love the grinder. Ours is in use with deer meat!!! Hubby got an old doe the other day and she needs all grinded. Makes nice sausage tho.
If my kids were this young-- soup asap. I wouldn't wait for the first attack if he is already attacking me.

I had one very bad rooster, Raptor, and my boys carried sticks at all times but they loved that rooster. Stick collection at the door so they could select the defense stick of the day. THe kids stuck together watching each other's back. Rooster attacked with out provoacation-- none that we could recognize-- just the way he felt about it. Boys would not hear of me killing that rooster. After a year, I had had enough, and plainly told them it was time for him to go bye-bye. Took two whole weeks to get used to not having to look for that meany.... I could relax finally. I had no regrets. I could walk outside with out worry. ANd yes I have a lot of scars on my legs from him . Lots of scars.THru many pantleg scars. I have no regrets putting him in the freezer. None.
Aww atleast your boys knew to defend eachother. My boys would sacrifice tho other one!

The recipe does not look like a cured sausage recipe. If it is indeed a fresh sausage recipe, you can eat it as soon as you want to. When I make sausage, I often fry a bit up right away to see if I need to adjust the spices.

We do the same thing Ron!
Glad you remember to fry it up first!! (( SHakes head)) -- all those that contract trichanosis from raw pork while testing the seasonings . . . . did a paper for a foods class long ago. Whale bear and pork . . . chickens fit into that catagory too.
OMG I KNOW!!!! Got a pack of pork chops the other day, opened up the package and read that now they thing that pink pork is ok to eat

Um not for me it isn't! The directions actually said to take it out of the grease while still pink like a medium rare steak

On the meats-- it is all about the right temp. Bought a couple butts on saleat 65 cents a pound. ONe to the freezer, the other cut into cubes for stir fry, and the rest into the oven to be well roasted. THe crisp skins was heavenly. I was having some competition from my oldest!!
