The Old Folks Home

Since my washer machine is broke, and I don't feel like washing clothes in the bathtub, yet again, I guess on my one day off from school I am going to the laundry mat with my youngest. OH YAY! a day spent doing laundry and trying to keep Faith from climbing on top of everything and trying to ride the carts around.

while trying to study for my Pharmaceutical quiz. These meds are doing me in SCG!!!!

At least you will be warm-- that is the one thing I like aboutthe laundromat in the colder months.

Hope you have some toys for her to distract her. I commend you for getting so much done at once. Well beyond my abilities. In time she will be helping you-- mine do the laundry if only a few times a week. THe best part is they can hang it up to dry!!!

Maybe she can fold???

I still trip up on meds -- spelling is everything.

It will definitely be warm. She has some Lego Duplo to keep her busy. she will try to fold. She is only 2 so not much she can do. Spelling is definitely everything! the Myocins and Triciclines! GOSH see I am spelling them wrong already!

That is why I am glad when my docs have gone to emailing scripts-- fewer handwritting issues. ANd just select from a pull down. Of course knowing which med is critical , lol.

Even ifyour daughter rolls the towels, it is a help. My laundry routine has forever changed since kids. lol

On another note---- my new dishwasher is in and running.

Not as good as my old one except that this one doesn't leak. Floor isn't getting wet any more. TOok DH a long time because of problems with fittings and connections, changing out the old and putting in the new. New connectors didn't match and thread right, etc. I"ve been running the machine non stop since testing it out. YEah!!!!!

Santized the canning jars and they are filled with dried beans and in the canner now.

LIfe is not the same without a dw or washer.

Arielle I bet you are excited about your new dishwasher running! I know I would be.

Chickens maybe you could have a repair guy come out and look at your washer. Alot of times you can get it fixed cheaper than buying a new one. I've done it plenty of times.

Sorry to hear that your washer is broken. I would be lost without mine. With 5 kids and a husband, laundry is what I feel like I do all day, even in my sleep lol. I'm sure I would spend a fortune a week if I had to go to the Laundromat. Hope its fixed soon, and yes a dishwasher is a great thing to have. I will scrub floors and toilets, do laundry all day, tend to the animals, but I absolutely detest washing dishes.

Salmonella control for layers with outdoor access

Requirements of the Food and Drug Administration’s Salmonella enteritidis rule are easy to understand for layers that are always kept indoors, but giving hens outdoor access has required some interpretation of the rule.

The FDA has issued draft guidance to answer questions from egg producers with hens that have access to the...
Egg producers who house hens in management systems that allow for outdoor access have been involved in a tug of war between consumer demand from a market segment that would like birds to be outside on the ground and food safety regulations that require hens to be kept away from rodents, wild birds, flies and other wild animals. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Organic Program Regulations require that organic eggs come from hens with outdoor access, and the USDA is considering changing the definition of outdoors to eliminate porches. If this change happens, all organic hens would have to have outdoor access on the dirt.
