The Old Folks Home

I have a banana tree. I would hope it wouldn't hurt it especially if you washed the leafs off right away. Mine's pretty durable. The biggest challenge I have with it is trying to start the suckers that come up around the main stem. Haven't had success yet.

A bit punchy this morning. With DH out of commission with his sutures for at least a week, I'm in charge of taking paralyzed doggo out to do his business in the middle of the night when the urge hits him. This morning it was 4AM. :caf Forgot how peaceful and pretty it is outside that time of the morning but man that bed felt good when I crawled back into it.

I have to admit I never get over to the gallery section either. Only so much you can do and I'd rather be here at the Home in what time I have.

Good morning troops..:hugs Wishing you all a hell of a day..:frow

Interesting guy there Deb.. Alcohol can make people do strange things.. Tho it doesn't excuse the bad deeds, everyone is responsible for their own actions..

I'm a mellow drinker, to be sure.. I love to laugh and tell jokes, especially when I'm tipsy, but I remain respectful and PG..:D Haven't had anything to drink in over two weeks, and probably won't for another one.. My little sis is coming to visit from NY.. She doesn't drink, so I give her the respect of not drinking when I'm with her..:)

I wonder how it would of ended up had I met great grampa.. Especially if I saw him beating a mule.. I just couldn't stand by and watch..:hmm

The good thing is you turned out to be such a sweet girl..:hugs

You can clean those banana leaves and make them look beautiful.. I love big leave plants.. I have a couple of giant elephant ears - same problem tho, I have to keep ripping up the offshoots, SMH.. But some leaves can reach five feet in length.. I have a lot of caladiums too, love their colors..

I know exactly what you mean about the peacefulness of the morning.. I have sat out there, on occasion, with coffee or tea, I enjoy peace and quiet whenever I can..

I have the giant elephant ears also. Lost the majority of them this year. Planted in large pots as I always do and they rotted in the soil. They were about 4 years old so maybe they just got tired of living.

In the past they have been almost 6 ft in height. I have one inside now trying to coax it out of dormancy. Very frustrating as I love them to pieces. I did have Calla lily bulbs sprout using the same potting mix so I don't know what happened with the elephant ears. Also planted cannas this year. Two of 6 sprouted. Must be something in our soil. I need to find the time to break out the soil analyzer kit and try to figure out the problem.
