The Old Folks Home

Yeah, the number one side effect of Methotrexate is fatigue followed by the ever delightful dizziness, nausea and vomiting.

That shag bark took a good hit. I will predict that it may die from the shock of the lightening strike. We have trees hit regularly back in our timber. Some just blow up,others are split. We found one that broke off about 15 feet in the air and caught on fire. Mother nature is very cool.

Hubby cut a tree that fell over in half, and the bottom part stood back up.

I forgot to update on the bee hive. It was very exposed in the location they swarmed to.
When I got home Thursday evening the hive was empty except for a few bees. I messaged the guy that said he was going to come out on Saturday to see if he came and got them. He said no. I sent him a pic of the empty hive. He said they probably moved. And it's been raining ever since so we have not been able to look for them.
Here's a pic of the empty hive.

That comb just sitting like that out in the open sure is cool!

You could harvest it for beeswax candles... or just to look at....pretty

Do you feel less pain yet?

Couple hundred posts+ behind. Finally on my day shift job, four tens, three days off, I bid on in December :celebrate
Congrats Beer! Back to a "normal human" work schedule.

Mine is much smaller. I was born in 1960. I likely have a little bit of resistance still but not much. If Small pox comes back, we will all have to get the vaccine again.
Curious. I have no scar and I am 4 years older than you. I PRESUME!! I was vaccinated.

Will there be any woods left Ron?
Muir Woods is over on the coast just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. No fires over there.

We have a mystery going on. Every morning for the past two days we have found religious pamphlets for a faith different from our own stuffed in our mail box. Have a suspicion that it is coming from one of our neighbors.

Told DH that I was tempted to put a sign in the mailbox with a line from that old song 'Signs' that says "Thank ya Lord for thinkin about us, we're alive and doin fine!"
As 2 others noted. Illegal and they can be prosecuted. Put up a sign to that effect. And put out the game camera so you can turn them into the postmaster general.

"Well that is where all the (fill in the blank) stay here in Heaven but be real quiet going by the first two houses. They think they are the only ones up here!"
So true.

If I stripped completely that would really cause a pile up of horse traffic in front of our house!:lau:gig
Nah, the horses are too smart to run into another buggy!

I sure hope the bear didn't hurt Ripley ;)
Ripley's Believe It Or Not! I'm not sure you are believing his story.

We've had Jehovah Witnesses visiting our place, just leave their 'Watchtower' pamphlets in our door, dw doesn't answer to strangers. I don't have anything against their religion, actually not much different than any other, but they're door bangers.
Yep. I know what the religions are and I know where to find the "door bangers'" temples and halls. If I want to talk to them, I will seek them out. I don't, so I haven't. Do not darken my doorstep.

Sucks when you're tired, but can't sleep, and just toss and turn... Been doing that for the past almost 4 hours. Figure if I can keep doing it for another couple, I can stop and get started on morning animal chores :hmm
Don't let it go on more than an hour, half an hour is better. Get up and do something quiet then go back to bed.

More worried about what the side effects are going to be. Fatigue, dizziness and N&V are the first three that pop up.
What dosage did they start you on? DW doesn't have any of those symptoms, she's doing 15 mg/week oral.

And yes, bloodhound average age at death is only 7.
 I would have a hard time choosing a breed with such a short lifespan. Hard to lose them at twice that age but knowing they will be gone so soon? Too hard.

We had a storm come through a bit ago and lightening hit our wood fence it broke two boards and sent the post flying.
Scary! Glad nothing but the fence was damaged.

I need to get out some fabric and start quilting
Right, because you have NOTHING to do! Bored to tears!

Ah crap! Just looked at my pic. Have a section put together wrong. Oh well, take it apart, do it over.
OK, I give, what is wrong? Nothing obvious to me.

Want to be careful with that. I've heard once a guy cutting a big downed tree, with the roots out. Common practice is to start at the top and get rid of the branches and work your way down, good to learn from others mistakes, down tree's like that I guess it's best to detach it first from the big root ball. He worked his way down and eventually it stood up and rocketed his chainsaw into his garage. He didn't get hurt though thank God, could've been bad if a branch caught him and slingshot him... I would've never gave it a thought until hearing that .
