The Old Folks Home

Ron lucky you. It takes dh 4 hours to cut our place. But that's with weed eating also.
Lucky both of you... It takes me a solid 8 hours just to mow the front pasture, another 12 to mow the entire back, and 4 more to do the yards around the place, the driveway (long) and swale out by the road. :barnie I generally break it into a 3 day evolution... and that does NOT include weedeater time, which I normally just skip...

I've been searching for a pair of boots for several years. The problems I'm encountering make it difficult... They need to be slip on/off as my knees, ankles and hips are no longer young (I don't bend so well any longer), and I have fat calves, so boots higher than ankle height hang up and won't go over them. :hitSo, I buy the cheap slip on loafers at walmart to use as farm shoes and replace them about every 2-3 months. My present pair is really past due for replacement.

I did however just buy 2 pair of new slippers from Sportsman's Guide

I ordered them back on Aug 8th and the Email confirmation said back ordered, earliest avail 8/30. Called them yesterday for status and they said they would be shipping them today. :yesss: Until a few years ago, I couldn't wear slippers cause my feet sweat so bad. Now I wear them all the time. Must be getting old(er) or something...

My sister in law lives on a place in Missouri that takes days to mow. My DW was helping with that when she was there in July. It sounds like a lot of work!

You need sheep.

That AND a couple of beef steers...both were/are the "plan" however, fencing has to come first and that's a lot of $$, a lot of work, or less work and even more $$ to hire the work out. :(

What a sight...

That's hurricane Florence coming for a visit. She is probably going to set a spell.:hmm

She doesn't look quite that impressive on the local radar - that Southeast composite view always overplays the precip.

And thanks for the thoughts and prayers, guys.:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

Thats more work than I would want to deal with. Here they tie up a horse to a tire with the wheel and move it around every day with a water bucket to keep it fed and watered.
It keeps the grass down. But I would not want to do that to an animal.
The Amish do that here with their horses. One around the corner from us runs a single hot wire to the road, down the road back to the regular pasture fence and turns three horses out in it or stakes a pony out on a 25 foot rope. I hate to see it. Came over the hill last week and encountered a nice standard bred standing out in the road. It had gotten over the hot wire and was enjoying the freedom. I stopped by their house and told them they had a horse loose. Luckily these animals are so bomb proof that all I had to do was slow down and go around him. DH asked me why I didn't tie a rope to it's halter and bring it home. I told him I was sorely tempted. They have a mare with an unweaned filly still at her side that I would love to have. She is light gray with dark gray socks mane tail and head. DH said he would buy her for me but taking care of her would be a chore with two different types of arthritis. But I would love to free her from a life of Amish drudgery.

Got back from the doctors appointments. DH aced his. Thanks for passing on the information about the Shingles vax. He was able to get his first shot today. My B/P was still acting up. Told the doc I liked working with doctors I didn't like going to them. He understood and agrees that I'm doing white coat hypertension but he put me on B/P watch and medicine anyway:rant. Also getting a bone density test done since I have osteoarthritis. He told me to look on the bright side. They couldn't do anything about the Osteo but hey, we can help you with the RA!

Oh, HOORAH! was my response..
