i am glad you are having fun!!The Adventure continues.
The landscape began changing as I travelled further north. The leaves took on darker shades of fall colors and were less spectacular. The vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges became russet, mustard, and golden-brown.
Passing from Kentucky into Ohio, there was no welcome center rest stop, but the state line was in a populated a area. I counted nine fresh whitetail deer carcasses between Nashville and Cincinnati. They seemed much larger than the deer in Alabama. I don't know if it's that I was on the interstate or if it's yhT at home the deer are picked up and taken home to be processed, but you don't see that many where I'm from.
I arrived in Cincinnati after dark but was "wowed" anyway. The lights and the river were beautiful. I wished (there I go again) that the traffic would jam so I could look more and take pictures. The drive to Columbus was dark and by the time I found my hotel and checked in, I was bone tired.
I called to check on Dad and he is doing a bit better. My brother and sisters insisted I go on this trip once Dad got out of ICU. They said they would take good care of him for me.
I called home, too, and it seems Duck Duck was taken by a predator. I feel really bad because I let her out that morning before I left and she didn't want to go to the coop but she walked out there with me when I called her. I think she sensed something or saw something I didn't. One of my plans was to get her a mate while I'm here. I guess that won't be necessary.
Well, you all are caught up. I am sitting in the lobby with coffee, waiting for my adventure to continue.
sorry for duck duck
