The Old Folks Home

I am so sore! I did a 3 mile walk with Ripley this morning, planted my garlic, then decided it was probably one of the last nice days of the season, time to do that landscaping I promised myself I'd do before the end of the season.

This was Doe Cemetery when we found it last month, 5 October. We had pulled down some of the greenery to erect our sign. We tramped through and found some stones, but it was really jungle like in there.

Well I couldn't leave it like that.
Did I mention I was sore?

I got about 90% of it done, roots and all. The area to the right of the double stone has a small, newer (1971) flat gravestone and while I cleared around it and next to it, I didn't clear the area in front of it. I could barely walk back to my car as it were. It really is a gorgeous cemetery, you can see the Kennebec River in the distance.

I get home and trying to slug my way out of the drivers seat and bf is like we need to go to the dump, and all those boxes your sewing machine came in are already in the truck (took me an hour to break them down Thursday AM) and he wanted help unloading those. So I went to the dump.

I then ate something, consumed the maximum single dose of both naproxen and acetaminophen, soaked in the hottest water my furnace could put out, and now I'm debating what I can do for the rest of the evening that doesn't involve moving.

Yikes, how much poison ivy did you find in there?

What a busy day!

I hope you recover without any issues

Amazing Job @superchemicalgirl. Bless you for caring and doing all that work. Those look like young walnut trees in the first picture. Tearing out roots is a tough job no matter how you look at it.

I suggest a long soak in a hot tub with a cup of Epsom Salts added and a glass of your favorite wine balanced within reach....maybe a saucer of chocolate covered cherries also.

I had 4 small twix (yay for clearance halloween candy) and am now laying in bed with the heating pad, watching videos on how to use my new quilting machine.

Hopefully there was no poison ivy, didn't see any. The greenery was apparently sumac though, I did a quick google enough to terrify me that I'm going to die from ripping it up all morning... and then I pretended I hadn't read that about it causing rashes.

Here are prayers you are rash free
