The Old Folks Home

Dh went in for surgery #2 about 2:15. Should be out in a couple hours then recovery for a bit.
:D
I sure hope he feels a WHOLE lot better in the morning. And they FEED him!

DH speculated that he was surfing the turbulence the van was causing but it was cool having one fly along with me like that and getting a close look at it. Beautiful bird.
Or just following you home to raid your coop!

My muscovy by the chicken coop.
Curious, I would not have guessed that ducks would hang out on a "roost" above the ground.

Turns out the brakes didn't work and the throttle was stuck... so he ran it into a tree. Can you see it?
Oops. Sure hope there was little or no damage to the sled.

I hover over the like button until it turns up and then click it.
If I hover, it rotates and turns red, then I click.

The Muscovy are the only domestic duck not derived from the mallard. They are a south/central American tree duck.

The males get so large they can't fly. But the girls can fly after they are full grown. All those perched way up are the ones hatched this summer. So, being youngsters, they are all excited about flying and like perching up on the coops etc.

The adult girls might fly up to the top of the 4 foot fence to perch, but usually not higher.

But I tell them all that they must sleep in the duck coop at night. So they coop up, and we lock them up. They are pretty smart for poultry.

He's been in agony waiting for his pain meds. A couple nurses shifted him in the bed and relieved the pressure off the back and drain tube. Now he's feeling a bit better.
