The Old Folks Home

The truck would not start I spent two hours trying to get someone to give us a jump. Called AAA it cost 65.00
Stopped and got the battery checked it's good. Just low.
Stopped to get meds and his muscle relaxer is on the national back order list. And Blue Cross would only pay for 7 days of pain meds. So he will be out before his follow up on the 21st. We could have paid for the whole script @ 113.00$. That's crazy! Luckily he still had muscle relaxers here. That he did not take before his surgery. And we have pain meds from other dr visits that we never used them all.
So I think he will be ok. We were wore out and went to bed by 6:30 pm.
It is good that you made it home!

A speedy recovery is a good goal.

Rules for short term controlled substances have changed, and pharmacies are no longer allowed to give out more than a short course of treatment. If you want to blame someone, blame the prescription drug abusers who scream bloody murder if their supply is interrupted, and the people who steal medication just to get high. All these rules are in place to try to prevent overdoses, and lawsuits against providers. They are ruining it for the rest of us.

Laws do not stop a criminal. The definition of a criminal is one who does not obey the law. Restrictive laws do not stop abusers/criminals. It may make things more difficult for a time, but in the end, it's a bump in the road to them while they find another way. More restrictions only stop, and hurt those who now have to try and deal with the aftermath. IMHO, the tougher the restrictions become, the more laws that are passed, the more criminals they create. Eventually, even a law abiding person will stop obeying stupid laws.

Yeah, like trying to buy the drugs they need for their pain off the street!

I don't want to play the blame game, as it does no good. I would, however, like to help figure out solutions to the problem. Maybe a prescription for a week supply, and a refill? I know the hospital pharmacy is allowed to fill long-term pain medication prescriptions here.

Seen as the released us on Sunday we could not use their pharmacy.
It upset me the pharmacy could not let us pay for the pills the insurance would not cover. To get a pain script here the Dr. Has to hand you a paper script. They cannot eFax them. And the Dr. Is over an hour from us.
Quite a racket they have going on. I will call the Dr. And tell them what happened.

When i had my recent surgery they gave me the Rx before i had surgery. That way i got it filled before surgery, and didn't have to wait.
