The Old Folks Home

As I was finishing up in the kitchen preparing everything for dinner, I suddenly started feeling kinda light headed, and almost like I wanted to sweat. I took 3 low dose aspirin and put my legs up in the recliner. After about 20 minutes, it passed and now I'm back to normal. Broke out the cuff and was 159/85. Upper is higher than normal at ~ 134, lower is a little higher as normal is around 82. Anyway, got everything finished and have a nice full plate here to work on while conversing in font.

Green bean casserole, garlic mashed spuds with skins, turkey of course, gravy, stuffing, candied yams (I do NOT like them baked with marshmallow! :sick) and jellied cranberry sauce. I have a plate with a little of all of that for my meal :drool

I'm thankful for my BF's family, who have always treated me like family. And cooked TG dinner without my help, since we were downstate seeing

Since my parents, GP's and all my aunts and uncles are gone, and my sisters live several states away, I appreciate having another family to spend the holidays with. Holidays can be sad for people who are already lonely, so I'm thankful for my friends from all over and my real and adopted families.

LS we had a similar diner. Except I made potato salad instead of mashed potatoes and we had garlic green beans instead of green bean casserole and we had mac n cheese.

Beautiful pictures, @Alaskan. You can get your ducks and chickens out in the snow. BRAVO! Mine hate the stuff!

You all stressed out, @Latestarter? My b/p always is up when I'm at the doctors. One asked me what he had to do to me to get my B/P down in the office and I just chuckled and said, stop making me come into the office! At home it's 110/70 with a high of 130/68. I won't say what it is in the doc's office, let's just say that I give the numbers a good work out and it's all due to a stress reaction.

Thanks Chicka, i am feeling a bit better as long as i take the pain pills when it is time. Hope you have a great day too!

Cap, glad to hear that you are comfortable due to the magic of modern drugs. Hope you can get to feeling better. I didn't realize how much pain I'd been deal with until I got up this morning and didn't have any pain. And I've managed to stick to the new Gout diet all day! Yay for me!

Huh.

I don't like that. Not sure what that was... but take good care of yourself, and make sure you check in with us tomorrow or I will worry. :old

Me... :sick don't like the in laws, and we always eat with them. They ask us to cook X, then when we arrive, they have also cooked X. Spouse does most of the cooking... had told them that we would be bringing all starch... so yeah... of course mom-in-law had made her yankee dressing that no one likes(I had made Texas cornbread dressing) she had made sweet potatoes (spouse had made 2 kinds), she had rolls... we had rolls... spouse was the only one to make mashed potatoes.

Then of course spouse is ticked and spends most of the evening looking at a cell phone.

Now I am grumpy.

But at least we are now home... it is over.
