Hello Peeps!
Well, it's the Sunday before Thanksgiving and I am supposed to be pre-cooking, but there are other things I want to be doing (like surfing BYC!) Today, I plan to get a fresh Christmas tree from Lowe's and will stop by TSC for a couple of new feeders while I'm out. I will set the tree up outside to "relax." I always put it in it's stand, with water, and hose it off a few times to remove bugs and leaves and some loose needles. The limbs will relax and then I can see how much room it needs and which side looks best. Then I will set up the new feeders for the breeder pens and resist, hopefully, the urge to spend time letting the new birds free range and instead spend the rest of the afternoon in the kitchen. Truthfully, I'll be happy if I am able to make the three large batches of cornbread I'll need for my dressing on Thanksgiving Day. We will be having a traditional Southern Thanksgiving dinner complete with a whole turkey, dressing (cornbread, chicken, celery, onions, sage, etc.) baked sweet potatoes, butter beans, deviled eggs, broccoli casserole, corn on the cob, pecan and pumpkin pies, and a chocolate cake. Whew! I better get started!
There is nothing in the world as good as real bama cornbread dressing. Do you put boiled egg in yours? And man oh man...butter beans???Hello Peeps!

Cute baby photos, I love baby photos.
SCG...that cold out there? Wow..and it's only begun.![]()
I love when the babies are going through that awkward feathering out stage, they look so funny. These all look like they'll have the same coloring as their mothers (RSL and BO), the rooster is either our BO or LH. They are also under the tree...or nearly so. We have a shortage of outlets so are limited on where we can plug in the brooder lamp. The house was built in 1848, and we have been adding new wiring as we can afford it. No closets and no central air.Cute baby photos, I love baby photos.

Quote: You are much colder than we are. WInd is blowing. BIrds are hiding in sheltered corners. Constantly checking the waters. Kids are chopping firewood-- when they heard ax and money in one sentence they were fighting to get out of the house!!!!
