The Old Folks Home

I had cherry vanilla ice cream after my chocolate covered cherries - I am so off my low carb diet. :he
I couldn't even imagine eating those cherries other than AFTER everything else. Need to keep the best taste in your mouth as long as possible.

I just ordered a few of the things on my wish list for making Easter cookies.
Boy do you plan ahead!

Had to replace some ingredients twice already because past expiration date.
Which ingredients? The expiration date on most things is a "best by" date, not a "throw it out" date. I don't have any idea how old the barley was I put in the soup yesterday but I'm quite certain it is WELL past its "best by" date. It is still fine having been stored in the plastic bag in a small plastic container.

@bruceha2000 I'm not sure that lack of understanding is strictly a between-genders thing. On one episode of Netflix's series Queer Eye, the subject of the episode remarks that his girlfriend has been dropping subtle hints that she might be interested in getting married. Karamo asks him, "like what?" Like, mentioning her ring size as they walk past a jewelry store. Karamo laughs and says, "dude, that's not a hint, it's a kick in the butt!"

Critter and I made another trip to my parents' house to work on the yard again. Part of the time we were there, they weren't; Mom was getting a biopsy done (depending on the results, she may be facing another mastectomy). As if the cancer wasn't enough to fret about, she has a nagging feeling that her new doctor isn't taking her case all that seriously.

On the way back home, Critter and I made a slight detour to pick up a skein of yarn. BB2K has been working on a crocheted afghan that she had originally hoped to give Mom for Christmas, but since this is a project of her own invention and which has been developed as it went along, how much work and how much material it would require has only been revealed as it progressed. She had hoped to send it with us on this trip, but the local store that carries this yarn hasn't had it for a few weeks, and since all it lacked was about 18" of border of being complete, ordering a single skein online seemed a bit frivolous. The store close to my parent's house had 6 skeins of the yarn she needed, so dropping in there seemed like a no-brainer. We don't know our way around Goldsboro, and for some reason, the navigation app on Critter's phone seemed determined to turn a simple job into an adventure (maybe it took it personally when he veered from the chosen path to take advantage of much cheaper diesel prices, and fill the truck's tank?):idunno Ah, well, yarn acquired, trip accomplished, so soon, the project will be complete and ready for delivery on the next trip a couple of weeks from now.

Very cheerful!

I like it.

Tilamook is VERY yummy ice cream. My favorite! So rich and creamy.

Discovered that eating chocolates while watching a movie before bed not a good thing to do. The caffeine in the chocolate kicked in shortly after midnight and I was popped wide awake. It'll be a long day today.

Yesterday was DH & my 20th wedding anniversary. Had a nice dinner out in spite of the crowd at our best restaurant. Our server was a true romantic and comped our wine. Awww....
How nice, Happy Anniversary!

Very pretty, and nice work!
