The Old Folks Home

No sign of spring here, keep getting more snow (in small amounts) freezing drizzle(have to chisel off the mailbox) and blowing and drifting which includes the neighbors over-flowing garbage can with no top.

Such a considerate neighbor! We got about 2" of snow today. The sky has cleared and the sun is going down. I don't think it should snow during the day when my panels could be making electricity. Of course I complain when it snows all night and I have to get up early to move it so people can go to work. There is no pleasing some people!

We are back to a steady stream of lint, slushy lint, then more lint.

Stuck the trailer and car in the driveway.... took 5 hours to clear the driveway and shovel it out.

Poor 10 year old this morning.... he isn't used to staying up till 11 ish (we sent him to bed before we were done) and he was a great help with shoveling.

Actually even the 15 yr old is wiped. But he was slaving since Friday with his job, then a big cub scout banquet type thing, then taking a wood stove out to a remote cabin with snow machines and installing it and putting in more insulation etc...... then on the last leg to the house..... :th

Forgive my ignorant question, but what does one usually do with quail? They seem far too small to eat, and the eggs you'd need a ton to equal one chicken egg.
Actually, a quail is pretty meaty! One would make a meal for me. The eggs are high in protein and people that can't tolerate chicken eggs can eat them.

I do not need quail.
I do not need quail.
I do not need quail.

:lau

We had quail for... a year? Two?

I got them because.... I had never before had them.

Their poo is like turkey.. :sick maybe from the high protein feed.

Fun birds... my excuse to buy them was a couple of sites said 1 quail egg a day would cure asthma :lau

Anyway, asthma kid REFUSED to eat 1 a day, every day... so I didn't even get to see if quail eggs are magical.

Eldest kid loved to eat them, because he loved randomly telling people that he had had a 10 egg omelet.
