Hm... how much does a dozen hatching eggs cost? And you can't keep them with chickens?
No keeping them with chickens.

I keep them in cages like this. Right now i have an egg sale on, $4 a dozen. But local is best if you can find them.
 
I suspect that won't cut it here in the winter.

Yes, gotta get rid of the goats.

Those actually look a lot like the brooders we have built for baby chicks. One is in the living room/kitchen right now to socialize them until we can't stand it anymore. The roomba is right under it and they flip out when roomba turns on and starts beeping to back up but they're fine when roomba is running.

I screw plywood over the open areas in the winter.
