yeah but he's already using lubriderm lotion and is on a boat load of medicine.

My vote? Vaseline. Remember a hospital pharmacist doing an inservice back in the 70s and telling us that petroleum jelly is the best skin moisturizer going. Ditch all the high priced skin moisturizers and use a thin coating of Vaseline. He also said that Bengay was a joke. Yes, it had menthol in it that gave a sensation of warmth and smelled bad enough for the user to think that it was really medicinal but it is the act of massage that does the strained muscles real good and no muscle creams penetrate deep enough to reach the sorce of most muscle or joint pain.

My big question is with the meds he's on what is the name of great aunt Sadie is he doing going to China anyway and how is he going to get those drugs past customs?

I know some of you guys have enjoyed my pharmacy hump day questions - I had (in my opinion) a good one last week that some of you may find interesting. It's a situational:
A guy comes to the pharmacy and talks to you. He says his hands have been really dry lately and he's been unable to get a good fingerprint to unlock his electronic devices, which has been really frustrating. He also says he's traveling to China in the next few weeks and is concerned about the intake process where travelers get fingerprinted. He's worried if he doesn't give a good fingerprint he might be detained. He's asking you for a very good cream that he can use to plump his dry hands back up.
You log into his med profile and see the following:
amlodipine 5 mg
Aspirin EC 81 mg
atorvastatin 20 mg
buspirone 5 mg
capecitabine 500 mg
lubriderm lotion
gabapentin 300 mg
lisinopril 10 mg
metformin 1000 mg
saxagliptin 2.5 mg
urea cream

What do you recommend and why?

Aspercream was great when it really had aspirin in it but didn't they take the ASA out some time ago? It was one of the meds that was absorbable through the skin and worked which naturally meant the FDA was just chompin at the bit to get it pulled from the market or get them to reduce the ASA to a dosage that couldn't be remotely regarded as therapeutic.

The lidocaine muscle rubs work best for me with shallow skin wounds and rashes that I get from poison ivy, oak and sumac. Most of my joint problems blow through the surface relief that I get from the lidocaine, I'm sorry to say. Which reminds me I need to pick up a bottle before weeds start to grow.

Sorry guys. Capecitabine (an oral chemotherapy agent) causes the loss of fingerprints during treatment. It will recover within 4 weeks of stopping treatment. You need a note from your provider when you travel.

Trick question .

Should have recognized the chemo agent. My bad. I have very poor fingerprints. Had to be printed in order to get a license in order to become a legal collector of antique firearms. Had to finally go to two different police stations before they could get legible prints from my fingertips. They said some people just have very shallow fingerprints and I'm one of them. Gee. Lucky me.
