The Old Folks Home

Sounds like you need the bumper sticker my SIL had until her husband ripped it off after a couple guys tailgated him and then slowed downed while passing to check him out...lol
It said 'If your going to ride my a$$ you could at least pull my hair' ...
Guess he didn't like the looks he got 'look of disappointment and laughing ' as they passed.
I didn't think he should have ripped it off but I wasn't the one driving
Bwhaahaah..... :gig

If you have an asparagus bed, the 5' tall things in the fall ARE the asparagus! I do try to get in and pull out the grass in the spring when the shoots start coming up but after you've eaten what you dare and leave the rest to feed the corms, the weeds don't cause any trouble, the fronds are feeding and they are above the weeds.

I've had fiddleheads a time or two. For the price at the store I can certainly skip them, not all that wonderful to my taste buds.

:D She looks like she's doing well, I guess the port went in OK? When does dialysis start?

I have traded fiddleheads for eggs (I'm big into trading) so the cost was neutralish. I'll probably get some more this year. I just traded some pillowcases for fresh cheese (she bought the fabric too) and once she saw them she wants some more so I think I'll trade for yogurt this time. I've also got another antique quilt top coming my way that's been unfinished for years for me to quilt. She's going to owe me some cemetery work for that.

Port is in and hoping it stays good. Starts dialysis tommorow afternoon. That quilt is the one SCG made for her. Being used often. :) . She has cute ..bed Head..hair. They have a salon in this place. She's due for a haircut.

I am so glad she loves it and uses it. Thank you for sharing the picture. To be clear, Dsqard also made some of the cats blocks on the front. She made the ones on the right and leftmost columns, because she can't follow directions she cut hers a half inch short. So to not be able to tell, they had to go in their own rows when I did the assembly (and I had to make a few more short ones to make the column even. :lau

But, she looks happy.

I took the day off work today, we finally got a few days above freezing here and the coops/barns were thawing. And squishy and stinky and :sick
This weekend it's supposed to get back down well below freezing at night so I needed to do it today before it partially refroze. Took me about 3 hours to do the ducks, then the goats, then the chickens. Halfway through the chickens someone crapped right on my head.

It was not pleasant, but I'm glad that's done. It's going to start raining here in about a half hour, so I was glad I beat that, too. It's already both muddy and icy (different spots, obviously) out there, and the rain that's coming is only going to make both worse.

BF's night shift this week and he got up and started making sausage and gravy and got my tea going while I de-crapped in the shower. :love

Yes, that's right, Dd did help too! You two are sweethearts. I would not be able to tell anything is different. The colors are still so bright for having been washed as often as it had. And, she's Happy now, I hope she will be ok by tonihto. She does better in the earlier part of the day. I told her she will probably be tired after the dilayslis, and that she can just go home and sleep. Then next werw she will go to morninga. Only starting out with 2 hrs..then work up to the 3 or 4. Man that's a long time. I'll be taking some of the many activities I bought for her to do. She may also want to bring her quilt when she finds out just how long she will be there. Bet ya. :)

God love her, she looks like the type of resident I would have LOVED to take care of.

I had one lady about her age that was just an angel. Developmentally challenged, she would greet me every day with a big hug and smile. I really looked forward to that smile. Sometimes it was the only one I got all day. The day I left she hugged me and cried.

I would love to have had about 30 more just like her.

:love And it always seemed as though those were the ones that had the heaviest loads to carry. God gave them sunshine in their smiles to make up for it though.

One of my favorites was a young man in his 30s who had the mental development of a 6 month old baby. He would lie in bed giggling and cooing like a baby would and then make a grab for .....ummmm.....shall we delicately put it a chalooby. :oops:He would just crack me up. I'd sing to him and he would clap his hands with delight. One of the nurses I worked with called him our 34 year old forever baby.

As for the bumper sticker, thanks for the laugh I haven't snorked coffee in a long time.

As for the snow....better you than us, AL......no offense of course because the pictures are sooooooo pretty.

It's chilly here today and yesterday we had wind gusts to 55. Just unpleasant as all get out. Everything not bolted down went for a ride in the yard and field. Still windy today but the temps are only in the 40s and the wind is still gusting.
