The Old Folks Home

I'm not sure what season we're in - some days are still savage and some are nice with rain (not icy drizzle). No snow around but, don't quote me on that. I should just :duc
We are officially in "mud season". The snow is melting, and everything is MUD.

We do not have that deep a frost or freeze ever this side of the mountains We did say goodbye to our old girl Fear she is running with my Tervuren now
:hugs:hugs:hugs
The Person that lost the pullets I raised for them is of course blaming the dogs. They were dumped off strays and have been caught and sent to Animal Control.

I doubt that the coop and husbandry methods will change. This is the second loss of a flock caused by stray dogs there. You would think that changes would be made to protect the flock!
So... the stray dogs propped the run gate open with a big, heavy rock? Impressive!

Happy first day of Spring!
Yes it was spring today. Winter returns tomorrow.

They are missing the part where they left to coop and run doors blocked open??

The will get no chickens from me!
Given this is strike 2, they wouldn't get the time of day from me.

Here too, until it freezes overnight. Then the sun and warmer temp turns it to mud again. Might get as much as 6" of snow Friday/Sat.

No, clearly the dogs opened the run and coop doors and blocked them open. Weren't you following along? The dogs are to blame.
Of course! Dogs are very crafty for sure!
