The Old Folks Home

Made it back in one piece kid lost his money leaving the credit union went
back in see if it had been returned ended up taking more to pay bills still no
sign of how he lost it
I'm sorry about the lost money. I'd be pulling my hair out. Hope it wasn't too much.

I just wanted to let everyone know that if you use frozen pie crusts, check the ingredients for lard. I normally buy the cheapest store brand ones, and have never had a problem. Instead of making a home made pie crust for my pot pie filling, last night, I decided to take a shortcut, defrost, and use a frozen pie crust. It was Pillsburys. I noticed the odor. I commented it smelled like pork. I didn't think a lot about it, but when we went to eat, the crust tasted nasty, and it messed up the taste of the whole dish. Everyone complained. Later on, I checked the list of ingredients. Lard with preservatives added. I dug a couple more out of the freezer. The cheaper store brand had oil. I baked it up, and it tasted fine.

The lard likely went rancid.

I have used leaf lard for pie crusts and they were very good
