The Old Folks Home

Ok, Dh was wondering why we had so many "weeds" in the garden. He was reading something about it being ok to use straw in the garden, but not hay. Apparently the berries from the hay hit the ground, and sprout causing "weeds". I am not going to change to straw in my coops, so he's going to have to figure out a good way to deal with it. I suggested he buy a hoe.
The chicken would love the oat hay that is growing from those seeds! Let them eat it

Will fresh basil work? I have something like 7 or 8 plants of it right now. When I dead head it I just toss the blossoms away. Yikes! I could have used them!

Got our pasture mowed 100%. Probably raking today. It looks so different but it is so much fun watching the big percherons working the mowers and rakes.

We let the pups out in the open field. It was like watching billiard balls scatter...until they found the horse poop then it was party time. I saw a Meme the other day about cattle dogs that said 'we don't just roll on horse poop. Sometimes we eat it too!' So very true. DH warned me not to let any of them 'kiss' me for a while.

90 degrees here today and our first week without any rain in the forecast.:ya
bwhaahahah oh the Joy of being a puppy....

The higher speed was pushing the small particles through the filter with too much pressure, and too fast for it to pick them up. He will never acknowledge it, but I'm not as stupid as he accuses me of being.
for DH :smack
We get suprefine dust off the dirt road that runs up the south side of our property, about 100' from the stupid pool. A south wind blows it across the property, you can see it blowing over the ground mount solar panels when someone who lives up the hill zips along with a Pigpen quality dust cloud behind them. I often have to vacuum to waste or the pump running at 2 HP will blow the stuff right through the filter and cloud up what was a fairly clear pool (24' above ground). When filtering the pump is run at 1/2 HP but that isn't enough suction to get stuff, even the light dust, up off the bottom.

I just got attacked by a homicidal psycho turkey.
:( TFH just won't straighten up!!!!

She's ancient though likely will be a tough old bird.
But I am done with her hormones. I've been nice, I've let her hatch.
Maybe she needs some different hormones to override the TFH broody hormones. Given your profession you might know if that is possible. Of course administering same would likely be a death wish.

Please, that turkey needs a high dose of Prozac.

Today is my last day at work!

:wee:clap :yesss: :jumpy

Wahoo!

It’s scary.

I have about 3 more hours. Yikes!
I hope you went home early!
