Great news Perchie. Don't be surprised if you learn this is the best decision that you could have made for your Grammy. A change of scenery, people besides you and your mom to interact with, stimulation from new conversations and activities. More than once I saw concerned family come in and not find their loved one in their room. They'd come up to the desk all but frantic demanding to know where 'mom' or 'dad' was. One of the aids would speak up and say 'oh, they are in the rec room playing bingo. They just won a round!' The family never failed to look astounded and many said 'What! Mom NEVER plays bingo'.

It just works that way. You did good!

My mom just checked in.... She is totally impressed with the staff and the facilities... The garden in the back is stunning she said. Huge Kitchen and dining room.

And if someone happens to move out grandma can be moved to a room with its on bath....

so now the hoops have to be jumped.... paperwork filled out doctor screening be performed and a write up of all of her medications... Of which there are only three along with her aspirin.

So we will be busy next week.

Ridgecrest had another bigger quake about 2 hours ago. It was a 7.1. Our blinds, indoor chimes and the vertical blinds were moving from it.

We are fine here since it is quite far away from us
