The Old Folks Home

Morning all just finished coming alive here had two cups heavy caffeine infusion
been cloudy but warm this AM odd steam most all veggies didn't want to not sure why
brussle sprouts I now fry in peanut oil about 3 minutes little crunch left ... I do understand Perchie Ma and I where the same way stayed away so long glad the 2 years where there for us .. Cap do 2 extra she can run through never get sick then little ones can go down so fast

Woke up this morning with a serious back ache...

little trip to the grocery store yesterday bout did me in. water here is awful cant be drunk without lemon or ice-cubes... forms stalagmites if allowed to drip.... So I buy Gallon jugs for drinking.

I used to be able to fit twelve jugs in the scooter cart... Best I could to is nine... and at moms request a twelve pack of sugar free Sierra Mist.... got food for me.....

Ground turkey.... watermelon cubes.... Pluots.... sugar free Popsicles.... A microwavable steamer cup for soup big enough to put a whole bowl in from ell Pollo loco... or some place else.

I forget what else... a very nice lady helped me unload at the register.. we chatted a bit... and bagger loaded it back up and helped me out.

I like grocery shopping i get to talk to people.....

Made it home and was able to bring two bags in before I collapsed in my work chair. Mom brought the last bag in and her sierra mist.... Then a serious paradigm shift happened. Mom and I cooperated in doing a small task of loading the refrigerator.

We got it done without fighting and some mutual appreciation. NEVER HAPPENS.

It is good to see that you are getting up to real food!

Strength should get better too.

Yep I need fiber big time.... ahem... But I so miss fruit....
I can boost my protien level now without resorting to those shakes... Bleh... Good when your are starving... chemically taste otherwise.

I still have to use them for the first year though so I should use them up....

News on the Grandma front... Mom told her we are moving her and she is totally fine with that.... Yay.

This morning was a difficult morning for her she only wanted mom to help her so she wouldnt get out of bed.

She didnt eat all day yesterday.... exept for part of her corn flakes. no wonder she didnt feel well this morning. I am happy she will be on a regular diet eating in a social environment.... Two things that will perk her up and what we cant do for her. Plus we cant spot when she gives her food to the dog....

One time she refused to eat because she said it was dog foood....

Activity and engagement is what she needs.... I fall short on that note....

Whow, cashy. DH just took one of our cats in for vaccines (2) and check up. 57 dollars out the door including cleaning liquid for his ears. When we did the 5 pups it was just 257 with heartworm medicine thrown in.

Wow! :ep here it’s usually like $150-$200 per pet. Even at the cheap vet. Although he did give us medicines for super cheap ha but it was usually at that one and current one at least $50-$60 “office visit” charge aka just to step in the door. Then usually like $20-$30 per vaccine. Well, actually, I don’t think I’ve ever had one close to $30 but still, had some like $22, $24.50, etc. plus of course the fecal test for the cat at an extra like $30 or $40.

Although actually this last vet visit I think it was only like $112 or something I think, somewhere around there, cause they forgot to ask about the fecal test (even though I had brought the sample but they didn’t see it cause it was in a compartment in the carrier) and I wasn’t about to bring it up and be charged that much more sooo... ha It would have been less than $100 but I accidentally got suckered into buying some cat toothpaste for her for like $15 or $16. Of which it was the exact same kind I bought on Chewy.com for like $8 or $9 a few years ago but never used and forgot I had. But that was expired anyway but still. And actually, that was a better deal cause it was a lot that included two little toothbrushes. This one didn’t include those. But whatever, I need to start brushing her teeth anyway. But it’s just they said they “had some toothpaste they could give me” which I assume meant like a little sample. Didn’t think I’d have to buy it. Should have known but didn’t. But then they had already gotten it for me so I just bought it. They’re really nice anyway and I don’t want her to get dental disease so I don’t mind but still. Didn’t think it’d be so much ha I don’t think Chewy even carries the kit anymore or at least not that flavor so it’s fine. She has like a bit of calcification on the back teeth or something? I think that was the term? I might be using the wrong word. Can’t remember exactly. But she is going to be 9 next month (August) so she really is actually in quite good shape for her age.

And if (who am I kidding ... when) she goes nuts again, you can blame @drumstick diva :D

You saw my strategy.

She decided she wanted a bigger quilt... so I'll try and piece the remaining 5 heads today, or at least get started on them. I still have the stock to pick through, though...

It can be very expensive to go to the Vet!
