Guys, pictures from my son's trip to Japan, are on the "Random photos," thread, didn't know where else to put him. He loves Japan and intends to get back there.

Where do we find those pictures?

Good to know, I wasn't aware of that. I guess one wants to choose a recently dead tree "on the hoof".

Bruce, keep your eye on bar wear on your chain saw. We just ran into it on our Echo 590. No biggy, they just recommend either putting a new bar on it or have the old one tightened up if the chain starts cutting crooked. The groove will wear on it with time and use. Ours has handled at least 50 cords of wood before showing wear so you probably have time on your side but just and fyi. If you are cutting a cord a year of soft woods it'll outlive you but if like us and handling hardwoods, you need to be aware of potential wear.

Morning all. Still on chick watch here. No pips as of last night but I did a quick candling and all looks good to go. I caught the silly hen on another nest yesterday afternoon. She has been a perfect girl until then when it comes to finding her own nest and sitting on it. I stuffed her and her eggs in a broody pen so no worries. Just waiting.

Sitting here waiting for a gout attack to settle down. "bleepin" knee. I ate a turkey hotdog last night so that is the only thing I can pin an attack on. No more hot dogs for me. I see the pain specialist next week.

In the meantime, low 80s here so a perfect day ahead of us!

Do you flip the bar on your saws? I've heard that is something one should do to prevent wear on one side (or something). Thanks for the warning, it will be some time before I go through 50 cords! I need only 4 per year, only hardwood, and in fact didn't even get that much cut with the small Stihl last fall. Haven't gotten out with the Echo at all, only used it to block the last of what I had on hand. Last of the "modification" parts for the new flail mower should show up Sat, then I can mow the fields. Have to finish up the compost bin set and clear all the old stuff out of the barn alley. Then maybe I can go cut some trees.

He did say Japan is very clean. When the folks eat in a shopping mall court, they clean off the tables (and dry them) before leaving. Sure doesn't happen in this country, not even in Sam's club.

I have to wash the Sam's table before friends and I eat there. They also have a fly problem. Probably because they have garbage cans all along the eating area.

How to flush?

DW had that problem when she went to Japan for work a LONG time ago. Apparently the darned toilet had more functions that a Swiss Army knife!

Not like your DW could "hold it," until she got home again. My son still won't tell me which thing flushes it. The crazy toilets at the shopping malls here, flush before you even approach them. What a waste of water!

Hoping you feel better soon. I have not been feeling well, forgot my pills one day, pressure shot way up, hot and cold, just feel awful. Going to the doctor this afternoon.
