The Old Folks Home

Do you flip the bar on your saws? I've heard that is something one should do to prevent wear on one side (or something). Thanks for the warning, it will be some time before I go through 50 cords! I need only 4 per year, only hardwood, and in fact didn't even get that much cut with the small Stihl last fall. Haven't gotten out with the Echo at all, only used it to block the last of what I had on hand. Last of the "modification" parts for the new flail mower should show up Sat, then I can mow the fields. Have to finish up the compost bin set and clear all the old stuff out of the barn alley. Then maybe I can go cut some trees.

Sorry you are having a gout attack.

Yep, flipped it multiple times, he assures me. You should be good for a while only doing 4 cords a year. He said just something to store in the back of your head for future use.

@CapricornFarm, so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. Feel better! That's an order! :hugs

Working on pictures of the quilt top and the last square that I designed myself.

No chicks....yet. Friend was here to pick up our big bale of hay for his goats and he looked at my Fayoumi hen that he gave me last year. We are both agreeing that she isn't a full blooded Fayoumi. Not with the way these youngsters of mine look. Pictures of them coming also. He thinks maybe she is a Fayoumi/Americauna cross. Hard to tell right now as she looks pretty ratty from the roosters jumping her bones. Hoping to get things done in the small coop so I can get the roosters separated from the main flock. They are not going to be pleased....frankly my dear chickens, I don't give a hoot!

One of my Tolbunts decided to try and kick me today. I don't have much patience when I feel bad. He is in time out, no hens for him.

Not like your DW could "hold it," until she got home again. My son still won't tell me which thing flushes it. The crazy toilets at the shopping malls here, flush before you even approach them. What a waste of water!

Thanks Bruce and Ron. Those were definitely worth looking at - and I went down the thread too to some other wonderful photos.

The auto flushing toilets really bother me. They go off at any time, scare you, and then splash toilet water on your behind.

How'd things go at the doc's, Cap?

Finally got a pic taken of the almost finished quilt top. I have the feeling that the only way I'll be able to get a really good picture of it once it is done is by hanging it on a wall.

Either that or do a top half and a bottom half pictures.

All you plant people out there I have a mystery. A few years ago we cut down some cedar trees to move the duck house out of their poopmuck. This spring I noticed a tree flowering with white flowers that was pretty behind the ducks.
It's leaning into the ducks now and I get a good visual of it every day.
It started getting little dangly fruits after it bloomed and I'm wondering what it is.
Apple? Crabapple? Something else?

Looks like an apple tree and baby apples

But the difference between a crabapple, and apple-crab, and an apple tree?

You will have to wait until the fruit ripens.
