The Old Folks Home

I have a problem and was wondering if any of you might have some advice. At this point I just don't know what to try next to solve it. Almost two years ago my DH bought a laptop for me from a national chain store and paid for an extended 2-year warranty. A few months ago, the battery started going bad, which is covered by the warranty. We took the laptop to the store and were given a toll-free number to call, along with a reference number to use, and were told that the battery would be shipped when we gave our reference number. That was in late summer, and we still don't have a battery. We've been back to the store, made phone calls, to no avail. On Monday I finally faxed the managers of the store about it, detailing everything we had done and been told over the months, and they have not responded in any way. The only thing I can think of is contacting the Better Business Bureau or picketing the store the Saturday before Christmas

That it terrible!

Contact The BBB and check to see if you state has a consumer protection agency.

Quote: Barring is easier to control than the complex copper coloring. Though how does one eliminate the barring_ Need a parent that is solid I think. Interesting. I have a pullet that is black; snowbird says it is just hiding the copper influence and to use her for breeding.

SCG-- no coppier at work? A cape is fairly simple if you want to try making your own design. Use chalk to "write" on your fabric. THe peices are generally shaped like a peice of pie,. . Make 4 of these. sew together to be half a pie. . cut the middle out so that the circumference is the same as a childs neck plus a couple inches, for comfort. . clasp-- Perhaps a snap type closure would work-- it should pull apart quickly when stressed. THe collar can be fashioned by cutting a strip a 3 inches wide and long enough to be a couple inches longer than the tip of the pie that you cut for the neck. When you sew these together you should be able to fashion a good collar with a few more instructions.

I made a cape out of a black skirt-- I have two boys.

Geez, stumpy, how frustrating. Can you get to anyone higher in company--try googling the company?

ronott and Arielle, thanks. I have just found the corporate fax number.

I am exhausted.

We got the goat house built. It still needs to be shingled (we have a tarp for the top to protect the tar paper until spring), plus we need a door (that's glaringly obvious but better than their other 3 sided shelter), and we need to move the hay feeder and water hanger. Otherwise, a good paint job and she'll be good to go.

And I got one of the 2 capes done (with exception of the "A" on the back). One purple kids' superhero cape, modeled on a very tired human adult.

SCG-- AWESOME CAPE!!!!!! Looks GREAT!!! ANd the goat barn is very cute with the fence around it.

Cynthia--I hope you don't mind I saved a copy of that photo, rooster sprinting across the plank bridge. Came at a good time. Seems like God has a way of showing me the way when I am stumbling down the wrong path.
