The Old Folks Home

I just showed DH the photo' that's a big one" was his comment. THe rattlers here are MUCH smaller, too cold to get very big, and only in a few places in Massachusetts. The water snakes are plenty big enough though. I personally prefer the pythons and boas.

I think the venomous critters are neat, but wouldn't want to cross paths with them out in the woods. Montana supposedly has reptiles, but I haven't seen any yet. Went out rock flipping over the summer with a couple other master naturalists, looking for rubber boas, and saw nada though we were in perfect habitat.

Same here! Got any? I keep Insular boas, and ball python morphs.

No, I don't keep snakes.

I enjoy seeing them at the zoos though. I used to work at a zoo and give brief talks to the visitors while carrying a 6 footer. Heavy bugger. ALways curled his tail thru my belt loop, like that would save it from being dropped. lol I prefer more interactive creatures so I tend to nix my kids having lizards, turtles and snakes. They can visit with a dog or cat or chicken-- we have plenty of those!

Cynthia, he is a mini Aussie. Yeah, the training.... It has been years since we had a puppy. My oldest Sheltie is going to be 12 next year and he is having some heart problems. Took him to the vet the other day. They gave me some meds to help but nothing can cure him. The meds do seem to be helping him but I know we will probably be lucky if he makes it through another year. I will miss him terribly when he is gone. For now though, he is still happy and comfortable.

Sorry I have been so busy recently. SCG - great work on the goat house and the capes!! Cynthia, your puppy is adorable!! I am "gifting" myself a new puppy for Christmas. I pick him up this coming Saturday.

Don't know what his name is going to be yet. I am such a sucker for a cute face

How cute! Can't wait to meet him! I'm so excited for 01.01.2013!

Hello fellow old farts.

Hope y'all don't mind if I cozy on up to a spot near the fireplace.

Howdy from Maine.

You will need to pin it very well into place as the presser foot will try to push the material out of align ment and the A will not longer lay flat.

Yeah and this material (satinish) is terrible for doing that.

For now though, he is still happy and comfortable.

That's what matters.

SCG, I know! I can't wait for the drawing either.

As far as Skip is concerned, I was scared to take him to the vet the other day. He has been coughing a lot recently and I figured it was fluid backed up into his lungs. I was right about that but I was wrong that he would need to be put down now. I was really glad I took him in since the medicine is helping with the fluid back up and he is coughing a lot less now, in fact hardly at all. I know we don't have years left with him but probably quite a few good months. I love all my animals but he is one of the "special" ones and I know I am going to miss him terribly but I will be holding him when the time comes. OK enough sad stuff, he is going to be around for Christmas and will get to meet his new "brother" this weekend. Can't wait to bring the puppy home and see how the others react. This ought to be interesting.
Speaking of puppies, Wisher how is your puppy doing? I know she? was on the mend but we haven't heard in a bit how she is doing.

Cynthia, I am so excited for you about your new puppy. There's nothing like a new puppy in the house.

Welcome, Bitterroot! Make yourself comfortable. Coffee?

We are mostly composed of gregarious adults who share interests (chickens and many more) and the gift of gab. We do, however, harbor some sexy senior citizens, old souls in young bodies, and yes, a couple of old farts. I'll let each decide which category suits them.......feel free to migrate between labels, if the mood dictates.......
