Wisher, that is a nice colored egg. Color washes out sometimes in photos, too, and yours still looks great. My dark layer lays a non-shiny egg... it's really rough, so I'm jealous that yours is so shiny. I love the speckled one, also. Wish I could help you with the grading.

I think the pic did wash it out some. Did you click on the pic and see the LARGE version? That egg was dark enough that my 12 year old noticed it and he pays practically no attention to the eggs (or anything else, for that matter!)

I'm just hoping that since I never did figure out who all was laying them, that I haven't lost any. I have 3 little cockerels that I'm hoping will help with this. They came from the same momma and another blue layer. Big bird will be 3 in April, so I hope she still lays lost of fertile eggs. I think I'll be putting her in with my Lav AM roo sometime this spring and see if I still get those eggs. What I'd really like is a purple chicken with purple eggs!


Oh and I love looking at those eggs too. If you look at the pic of them in the plate holder, you can see a silver grey egg on the top left. That's what color they start laying when the egg is going to be lavender.

Oh and really watch who you buy from. Some will even be so bad, they'll oen a new account and start over. Others like to steal pics from say..........ummmmm....BYC and used them in their adds. Have you seen all the EEs being sold as AMs yet? That drives me crazy!!!
