Quote: It is kind of like doing the heal on the break and the foot on the accelerator. I can't quite do that one yet--I am still recovering from a crushed Sciatic nerve so my foot does not have full range of movement.
When you are stopped on a hill, pull up the parking break. When it is time to go forward, engage the clutch and release the parking break. That way you do not go back wards before the clutch catches. I had to do that yesterday because of the car behind me hugging my bumper....![]()

Lordy, so many new topics and so much I could say, But Wisher is watching me so I have to be good. mmm, I could say something about being good, but no.... snickers...'
But one thing I will say, I love me some cops, yes, I have had dealings both good and bad with them. remembering the old wild west days, where if you moved you during a traffic stop you were beaten or worse shot (your learned real quick what not to do but respected them or feared them) to the now way too PC cops of So Ca. (Dumb liberals) You got your good ones and your worthless ones. Seems Wisher is one of the good ones...
As for hiding from your kids, My Mom took the cake on hiding from us. 3 of the 4 brothers were drafted during the late 60's til the draft ended. During a leave, I found the family home had someone else living there. (yes, they had moved) Spent the week before going back in country trying to see what happened. Brother 2 returned home, same thing, no family, no word, no forwarding address. So during the next year, writing, talking (Brother 2 and I were in country and brother 4 was Stateside), we got a lead. Brother 4 being State side finally found them on Vacation in Mexico. IN MEXICO!!!!! sheesh, we never had great Vacations like that. Turns out. mom had threaten the family friends with death if they took us where they moved to. (you had to know my Mom and the power she had) Her excuse for not telling us besides now having a family with only 2 kids was the mail must have lost it. mmm, Back in the day, the one thing the mail to Nam was, was good. Sure it may take 6 months to finally find you but it did. It took us nearly 2 years to hunt them down. It's not like any of us would move back home. Mom had a rule, 16 and out. Visits for a week max with approval. The story is really a long weird, funny, sad one so you got the basic breakdown. At least with me, I told my 4, I was moving. Sure it was across the country but still. smiles....
Hitting 60 was just another day for me, like all days since I was 30. No different, I already had oldtimers due to my childhood, early 20s and then 4 kids of my own. You get use to the memory going and the thoughts leaving you before you know it. Why one of my smart butt kids got me some wrest reminders. ha, ha. You write on them and like hospital bands of old, you attach it to your wrist. Problem is you forget you have it on, or forget to put it on or worse, you misplace them. aw, the wonders of growing old. It is an adventure every day, where everything sometimes is new, even if you did it, seen it or it happened before.![]()
For those young ones here, don't pity me, don't worry about me, your day is coming. Just enjoy it as you did as a kid. Life is more interesting when you just flow with it...![]()
What did I tell you about oldtimers.... It's the rambling that gets most others....
enjoy and I know I forgot some of the days topics, I guess you all are lucky....![]()
