I think I will take mine with extra padding it hurts less when you bounce off the wall.

On another note I'm pretty sure Elle has gone broody or is starting to. She was laying on the eggs when I went to collect. They were very warm and it's fairly chilly outside. If only I had eggs.

Tick you are aware that is only going to last a month right? That's only 20 or so pots a day. I think you have largely underestimated the amount of coffee one person should consume in one day to achieve optimal alertness.

My response.......I know, I drink it by the pot full. I could never find a cup large enough not to have to refill it numerous times. Now I make a pot, drink it whole and make another.

I did grow my own plants for awhile but just could not grow enough....

I guess I do not live far enough South in California to like Chickory coffee. I have been roasting my own coffee beans since the 80's. I can control the quality of the beans and the roast level.

Yesterday I roasted some aged Sumatra coffee beans from the 2007 crop. I roasted them a bit dark and made espresso with it tonight. It is a very nice tasting espresso.

Me too. Sometimes I think the law benefits people who don't play by the rules and punishes those of us that do. For a wide variety of things.

BF's mom almost lost her niece and nephew a year ago back to the kids' mom. It was a horrid court battle and it ended up with the mom being back in rehab and the kids being even more screwed up after being jerked around. The mom has been gone since Thanksgiving and hasn't contacted anyone, including her kids, this year. Mother of the year, she is not.

And yet the laws want the kids to be with her, not with the grandma who actually makes sure they're fed and entertained, into activities, have a personal one on one worker and are in counseling.

Either way, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope that no matter what, you remain a positive influence on those kids.

Bamachicks and SCG I completely agree with you two. My brother just went through a two year ordeal trying to get primary custody of his daughter. I know that in most cases the kids, at least when they are young, are better off with their mother but more and more there are particular cases where this is the furthest from the truth. It seems like you hear about stories where CPS gets involved and one of two things has happened. Either there has been years of reports and neglect or abuse but CPS and the courts decide to leave the children with their mother because that's what is best. Or you hear stories of a neighbor or a relative have some kind of grudge against the parent(s) and file a false report of abuse. The kids are immediately yanked out of the house, put into foster care and it takes years and a lot of money spent on lawyers to get them back. My brother's ex-girlfriend has serious mental issues. At one point she actually took off driving while he was leaning in to get his daughter out of her child seat for his visitation. He dropped the child back in the car seat and jumped out of the way but he was still struck by the door. The judge in the case blamed my brother for the incident because he was "exacerbating her mental condition". What? Really? He finally won custody after the ex filed three false molestation charges against him saying he was molesting his own daughter. The three year old was interviewed on the first two "reports" and examined by a doctor for the last report. She had never been molested and the judge (finally with some sense in his head) awarded my brother custody. Bamachicks I hope you have a judge with some sense in his/her head. Keeping

My father has custody of my niece right now. He stays messed up on pills to the point he can't function. Of course nothing I can prove there because the pills are prescribed to him. They can easily tell he is taking way more than necessary. He has also tried to kill himself twice. Again no one cares he is mentally unstable. My 10 year old niece is allowed to do whatever she wants. Her mother is now living with them. Well a friend of a friend called me and said she had just been over there and the mother had a crack pipe and was smoking it in the house in front of her. The friend was able to get it away and break it. She also told me the mother put it in the backyard in the firepit. So I called the cops. Nothing. They went and talked to her but that's it. Apparently it's ok to smoke crack in front of kids. Working on dhr but there so far nothing with concrete evidence other than mine and several other people's word.
