I will have this on WEDNESDAY!!!!

The Vets I have known tell me these transitional periods are colic season. Some horses seem to forget they need to drink when the weather changes, and next thing you know, there they go. I've seen everything from just lying down and sorry for themselves ("my tummy hurts") to diving at the ground when you try to walk them ("why don't you just go away and let me die?"). Thank the Lord, I've never yet seen the agony of a twisted bowel (and pray I never do!!). If you like, I could point you to a couple of websites where you can learn more than you ever want to know about colic - as could several other horse owners here, I'll bet. Good job, and good luck!

I had a young horse a few years ago that kept colicing on me. Butte would get her up and moving for a day or so and then she would go down again. Turns out she had tapeworm. I worm them every few months but on the word of one vet, I never wormed for tapeworm because "Arizona is too dry for tapeworm". Turns out he was wrong and the next vet was right. I worm for tapeworm twice a year now once in the spring and once in the late fall. I have never had another problem with that horse colicing again.

Oh, yeah, I worm the boy regular. No matter what people tell ya, anything can happen....

Shorty likes to lay down alot and people freak. Each horse is different and Shorty is not over trained like some horses I see. I let him be him but under our control. He loves to greet me with a head rub on my hip,. he does only me and it is our thing, but others tell me to break him of it. Nope. Shorty and I have our own ways.... He is just my big doggie....

For those of you unfamiliar with the breed. This is Hoppy one of my SS. She's not SQ but is (in my opinion) one of the most beautiful birds on the planet. I love the blue/green sheen on the feathers above the white spots.

hey, how did you get a picture of our Kazi???????

I can not see if she is bearded but Kazi looks just like that. She (Kazi) seems to be a cross breed of a SS and maybe EE. She has the beadred head and fuffy neck, and flat comb. (sheesh, forgot what it's call) Could not tell if Hoppy is bearded or not..... Kazi is our oldest chicken, 5 yrs (Got her from TSC as a biddy) and a great Mother, Broodied 3 times, to 12 chicks, adoped 6 more and she is a beauty as you say.... kazi is the Missus fav and will be with us til it's her time. Funny how we all have our Favs.....
