The Old Folks Home

Adorable. I'll contribute, too.

Banty is such a good mommy. Baby is already bigger than her yet she insists on sitting on him to keep him warm. She puts her wing around him, too.

that's funny

I hope baby isn't disappointed in his mama because she can't swim. She loves him and that's all that should matter. Even if his beak is odd shaped

I made her hatch ducklings last year, too. I wonder if this year she looked at her baby and thought "Crap. It happened this year, too. I wonder what I'm doing wrong?"

I may let her hatch something with a beak next year. Maybe guineas.

I found a nasty tick on me last night and have a nice welt from it today. I'm seriously contemplating guineas, now. Because I need more birds.

The poor thing is have an identity crisis!!

TIcks-- we have them all winter long now that our winters are milder. I wonder if any sharp eyed predator is also a good tick controller. My hens don't miss anything.
