That would be rat#3 caught during the daytime today. They must be getting really hungry to come out during the day.

I also was finally able to get a dry day and get BF out to help tip the duck house over and install their new Brinks Home Security Flooring (TM). Hopefully it's rat proof: I moved it from its previous location and the rat holes under it were crazy. No more dirt floor coops for me.

Yaay! Another rat has bit the dust, I mean water. :p

Cynthia what great fireworks photos - you must have quite a camera to catch that so clearly. I am very impressed, and must admit I love fireworks better this way - no ^%^*% noise all night long.

Thank you, it's just a cheapy little Walmart camera..I just put it on night, and long lens,, it is a little Canon.

You must have a HUGE cabinet bator..or, you have 20 different bators..or more.

I had to downsize my garden this year! After I had my stints put in I cannot bend over without passing out. So I had my DH make me a raised bed that comes up to my waist and it is 4x8 box. I only planted half of that because I was not sure what we would have time for this year. I am growing some dill, sage, basil, sweet basil, parsley. I tried to find a pic of our big garden we had a couple of years ago. But I cannot find any. It was 50 ft. x 100 ft. and it took me alot of time to tend it. Last year I tried a small on in the gound but could not do it. So this year here is our new garden

I have my herbs and strawberries in pots on a pallet. And we have wild blackberries everywhere! I don't think I could do a website. I have trouble with face book. lol

At least you have something going. That looks great. We also have to find a spot for our garden. Afraid it's very small this year. A pumpkin plant in this photo, two tomato plants, some chard, for me and the chickens.. :) and three Sunflower plants that will get huge, just for the fun of it, and, for the chickens when the seeds are ripe. I also have a couple of Yellow Crookneck squash in a different area.

My herbs didn't make it in the pots I put them in. Not sure what I did wrong. :(

Ya, kinda the way I think when I see the geese have opened a bag of feed not a foot away from a full feeder.

Or, something like this..

I'm coming in late but, I agree when people are hungry they want a chicken now, ,, no time or patience for little chicks to grow to eating size. I'm thinking if they did raise some chickens someone else would sneak in their yard and take them. Hard to bring about change.

I really love your raised bed garden! Wild blackberries are my favorite. It really brings back memories. My mom used to make wild blackberry cobblers in the summer and we all had chiggers from picking them all morning! The chiggers didn't itch so bad after eating that cobbler. LOL! I love fresh dill to make pickles and to put in potato salad. I got tired just thinking about a 50 x 100 ft. garden!

Thanks for sharing the photo! I love to see what other people like to grow.

Thank you it works. I like it. I do love the wild blackberries too. We make jam, syrup, pie, cobbler . I have never had chiggers! But I have heard about them! :(
Your welcome I like to see what other people are doing as well. I make pickles and relish with the cucumbers. I don't want to make sweet pickles they take to long for me! lol
