The Old Folks Home

There is snow on the top of this mountain, hard to see in this photo. More on another mountain just a bit North of us..but I took this picture in front of our house, was standing in the middle of the street.

It was so pretty, had to share.

We got snow last Tuesday. So not ready for winter!
Oooh, looks like you best get ready!

Thanks Chick! I love our mountains. The yellows and oranges are so pretty up there now, and then this is what we woke up to today. I so hope it doesn't get as cold as last year. It was bad. Into the minus. :/ AK may know a little bit about that.

DiDi had shared a similar photo with me the other day - snow on her mountain tops. It was gorgeous being at her house and looking at that out the window.

I need to start planning my next hiking/sightseeing adventure. What's your favorite national park or other such nature spot to visit, and why?

I recommend the Great Smoky Mountain National Park - Cades Cove. It is beautiful and the hiking is wonderful. My favorite is Abrams Falls Trail. The prettiest time to go is in the fall when all the leaves are turning, but it is also the most crowded at that time. Nearby Gatlinburg is like a german/mountain villiage filled with shops and attractions for the tourists, but the nature trails are the best. Plan to hike, but also take a whitewater raft trip down the Ocoee or Little River while you are there. Google it.... you'll see.......

There are many National Parks that are fun to visit..that are big, gorgeous and orange! I loved going to Lake Powel back in the day..waaaay back in the day..because I loved fishing!! That's a nice Large Mouth Bass.

Today..I love hiking the easier spots..national park..nope..just a small hike, it's actually part of a hike up that mountain that I posted above with the clouds. It's close, and it's very pretty in the summer. Love to take the dogs. My DH with big dog, little dog.

Myself with big dog little dog.

There's even a small stream which is as far as we go now.

Wish I could hike further. I loved doing it when my health was better. I used to hike the Uintas. Loved it!
